With R&B kingpin R. Kelly's trial set to begin next month for child pornography charges, it is reported that the judge in the case has been meeting secretly with lawyers -- usually within the privacy of his chambers.
According to 'The Chicago Tribune,' Circuit Judge Vincent Gaughan ordered a hearing for the case on April 11-- having reporters to wait down the hallway, allowing Kelly to stay in the in courtroom for the nearly two hour hearing.
To date there has been little information shared with the public regarding Kelly's case due to the lawyers being placed under a gag order causing them not to discuss any legal details.
Before closing the courtroom, Gaughan said several motions that had been placed under seal would be discussed, the newspaper reported. However, it was unclear how many motions there were and what they involved.
Meanwhile, DePaul University College of Law professor Rodney Blackman has a possible theory regarding Gaughan's viewpoints on the case.
"Obviously, the evidence in this case is likely to be very emotionally charged, which is probably why he's insisting that things be under seal."
"But the point of allowing the press in is to let the public know what's going on, including letting the public know if there's any irregularity in the judicial process," he added.
Jury selection for the 2002 case begins May 9.
A spokesperson for the Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter could not be reached by deadline.

I cann't believe how u people are putting this main up as if he was god. I will not judge anyone. But if he did the crime he need to pay the piper and for the young girl part she was under age and probadly was trying to get a fast buck. I don't blame her personally but I do blame Mr. Kelly for exploited young people for sex. He is no better than an old man playing around with badies to get his freak on. But guess what if he is proven guily what goes around comes around. Because I heard in jail men don't care who u are he might have to get there freak off.

First of all who are we to judge anyone, and those girls today 14 looking like they 21, some see nothing but $$$, I just hope to god he didn't do it, just another brother life gone down the drain over some $ss. I would think he could afford to pay for some $ss, not having to take it.
