Vivid Entertainment is determined to prove the authenticity of its latest release, 'Jimi Hendrix: The Sex Tape.'So much so that they are putting their money where their porn is.
The controversial video which was released on May 6, allegedly features late rock & roll icon Jimi Hendrix involved in a sexual escapade with two unidentified brunettes.
As BlackVoices.com previously reported last week, Hendrix's estate, Experience Hendrix,LLC has publicly denied the tape and released a statement saying, "[strongly disputing] the claimed authenticity and affirmatively state that Experience Hendrix is neither involved in, nor have we authorized the distribution of this film."
However, Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch says the company's statement "proves nothing."
"Vivid took considerable time and spent a substantial sum of money to authenticate the footage and we are very comfortable that this is the real thing," Hirsch said.
"We believe that those who say otherwise are relying on their emotions to make unsubstantiated claims."
The chairman obviously wants to issue a challenge.
"If Experience Hendrix can prove definitively that it's not Jimi Hendrix on this footage then we will pay them $100,000."
Vivid also noted that some of the so-called experts that have stepped forward to comment on the authenticity of the footage have never even met Hendrix.
No word from the Hendrix camp.

I really believe the person in the recently released sex tape iz jimi Hendrix.I viewed it my-self& i`m convinced it`s him.I have all of his music ,& i also have several photos of him as well.We have to remember that he was a wild drug addicted muscian kind of like Rick James& we all know how wild Rick James was.But Jimi Hendrix was the greatest guitar player i ever heard play.A brotha keeping it real.5/12/08 =9:20 pm

Jimi Hendrix used drugs but was not a wild drug addicted. Anyway, I do not want to argue on this matter right now. Jimi was a rock star and fully experienced sex, drug and rock. Of course, he had quite a lot of women during his short lifetime and did crazy things but he's not at all the guy on the video. Not this time sorry ! This is nothing but a amazing buzz for Vivid Entertainment.

From what Little bit I've seen, this aint Hendix. It's some dude thats been cast off as a look alike. First off, this is a cheesy style porn, done by a fly by night company, not raw sex footage. Jimi wouldnt have sold out to this kind of production, but no doubt in my mind he's shagged a cupla Brunettes before.
Second off, Jimi's a rock God and innovator, if he was to do this, his heart would have been more into it, he wouldnt have just laid there all comatose like, he woulda showed the audience some new kinda moves-which is what Jimi excelled at, not sleeping while getting laid...
