Time to give props where props are due.

Hill Harper handles his business in a way that uplifts and inspires.

Be it playing Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on the hit CBS series 'CSI:NY,' campaigning for presumptive presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama, or managing his two New Orleans boutique hotels, the Iowa City native is a man on a mission.

His latest book project, 'Letters To A Young Sister: DeFine Your Destiny' – which was profiled by BlackVoices.com's esteemed book blogger Felicia Pride this week – just arrived in stores and has already created much buzz amongst the black literati.

A follow-up to his 2006 award-winning, best-selling 'Letters To A Young Brother: MANifest Your Destiny,' the new book picks up where the other left off with its motivational messages – this time for young women.

"My hope is that this book will educate, uplift, and inspire," Harper writes. "As young women read it, they will hear the voice of a man-a Black man-encouraging them and explaining to them that they are beautiful, magnificent, brilliant, and deserving of unreasonable happiness."

"My hope is that this book will educate, uplift, and inspire," Harper writes. "As young women read it, they will hear the voice of a man-a Black man-encouraging them and explaining to them that they are beautiful, magnificent, brilliant, and deserving of unreasonable happiness."

Like the first book, an assortment of celebrities and power-brokers are featured throughout via encouraging messages and positive prose.

Some of the bold-faced names include actresses Ruby Dee, Angela Bassett, Niecy Nash, Sanaa Lathan, Lauren London, Gabrielle Union, alongside poet laureate Nikki Giovanni, fashion model Chanel Iman, recording artists Eve and Ciara and history-defining political power broker Michelle Obama.

Even hip-hop's most beautiful babiesmama Kim Porter is featured.

So it's a quite inclusive and accessible literary work, which delivers real talk about the important and sensitive issues young women face, such as self esteem, sex, money, education, and relationships with family, friends and men.

It's just what the doctor ordered.

"As young women read it, they will hear a voice encouraging them and explaining to them how and why they are truly queens, constantly reminding them that they are beautiful, magnificent, brilliant and deserving of infinite and unreasonable happiness," Harper said.

With a successful acting career and degrees from Brown University and Harvard Law School under his belt, Harper has made youth mentoring one of his special causes.

And because of that, he gets the glory!
