Morgan Freeman is one lucky man.
The Academy Award winner escaped the jaws of death earlier this week after a near fatal car accident.
Now he's facing a divorce from his longtime wife.
Today, the 71 –year-old actor was released from the Regional Medical Center in Memphis and he's in good spirits.
"I left the hospital today, just after 12 noon, Memphis time," Freeman, who is currently starring in the blockbuster 'Batman' movie 'The Dark Knight,' said in a brief statement.
"I'm doing very well. I feel real good.""It's great to know people care about you," he concluded.
Well-wishers abound – Freeman is mired in messy divorce scandal with his soon-to-be- ex-wife Myrna Colley-Lee (pictured right), whom tabloid media outlets revealed he has been separated from since last year. His publicist Donna Lee confirmed that the couple (of 24 years) are in the midst of a divorce and had been estranged for some time.
According to the 'Associated Press,' police ruled out alcohol as a factor in the crash and said it was possible Freeman had fallen asleep at the wheel when the car careened off the highway and rolled over several times.
The passenger -- and owner of the car Freeman was driving – was a female acquaintance identified as Demaris Meyer, was also injured, but no information has been released regarding her condition.
No other automobile was involved and no citation was issued in connection with the accident.
Freeman most recently appeared on Broadway in the Mike Nichols-directed play, 'The Country Girl.'

First I'd like to say to the bloggers-you all need to learn how to spell and definitely learn how to speak the English language (wow). It's good to know that Mr. Freeman's health is on the upswing. Concerning a marriage-there's two sides to all stories. One can live with an individual forever(figure-of-speech), there will always be something new to learn as the years go on. Mrs. Freeman left the union, that should tell everyone she's tired!!!! Okay. Jesus Christ physically left us. She'll always have him in her Spirit (believe me). She's had twenty-two or three years.

Glad to hear that God spared you and showed his mercy.
I hope that you grasp the lesson(s) that whats done in the dark still and always will come to the light.
I totally understand your situation, being in the same shoes with 24yrs of marriage and recently divorced. To give a whole lifetime to a spouse and wake up one day only to realize that you're totally unhappy and life has just about passed you by.

I use to be a very big fan of Morgan Freeman until; I saw him in a interview of 60 minutes. He denounced Black History month and said that Black History was ridiculous! I now have no respect for him whatsoever!

It is great to hear that Mr. Freeman is out and doing well. Unfortunate to hear that he is going through a divorce after 24 years of marriage-I feel that if you really love someone-you must fight to keep it, knowing what I know Mr.& Mrs. Freeman there are no perfect relationships by putting God first and working on the thing(s) that are problematic in the relationship is the best resolution, if not just let it go. Good Luck and God Bless you both!
Hope the passenger is okay.
