In the case of the scandal and drama surrounding actress LisaRaye McCoy-Misick and her estranged husband Michael Eugene Misick, the hype can be believed.
Amid various Internet reports that the 'Players' Club' beauty and the Turks and Caicos Premier are involved in the messy dissolution of their two-year marriage -- which includes allegations of infidelity with BET's '106 & Park' host Rocsi and a subsequent assault -- McCoy-Misick is coming clean about the debacle.
Via her longtime spokeswoman Lynn Alan Jeter, she issued the following statement to BlackVoices.com.
"It is with great sadness that I have to announce that my husband and I have separated.
Last night, Wednesday August 13, 2008, an attempt was made by and on behalf of my husband to first prevent my entry into our home and then, later, to make me leave our home by force.
It was necessary for me to receive medical treatment for injuries suffered and in relation to those injuries I shall continue to assist the police force with its [inquiries].
"Whilst it is my sincere wish to avoid unnecessary conflict, I shall not be intimidated, nor shall those individuals whose job it is to protect and represent me.
I ask that my privacy be respected in these difficult times and I believe that the people of the TCI will understand and support my wish to receive the necessary independent representation from the legal counsel of my choosing. I hope that, in time, the TCI government will come to share that view.
Although I have always been a supportive wife even in light of the very serious allegations currently pending against the Premier, there are limits even for me. I continue to have the utmost respect for the people of the TCI who have always shown me kindness and support. I vow to continue my work amongst the people of Turks and Caicos Islands.
Until recently I had hoped that I would be able to continue to assist my husband during what will undoubtedly be difficult times ahead for him. I do not wish to have to add to his difficulties."
A spokesperson for the Turks and Caicos tourism board could not be reached by deadline.

Being a wife for almost eight years has taught me a valuable lession. You never truly know who you are actually marrying, the representative or the man of your dreams. Too make a long story short, my ex husband went behind my back, bought a $400.000 home and divorced me without even knowing it. Of course I found out a month later and about the woman he had moved in when we were supposed to be working on our marriage, so I know the pain of being a hurt and heartbroken wife. So Mrs. LisaRaye McCoy Misick, if there's a time to put your faith in God this would be it. Hurt, hopelessness, confusion, anger, greif is the strom we all endure through these difficult times but that's ok. God got our back love becasue at this point were are to hurt and consumed by our emotions. So what if you went to the mansion, you are still his wife and n-o woman can take that, at least not at this point. But trust me my strong sister, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel, and regardless of what people say, think, or want to believe, you are his wife and a beautiful Raye (Smile) of life for myself and those sisters that share our have shared the same pain and disappointment. Continue to keep your faith strong and God will carry you the rest of the way. Stay true to who you are and your true purpose. God Bless you and enbrace your new path!!!

I am a big fan of LisaRaye McCoy, and when she was married I was very happy for her. Now that shes sad I feel bad for her she has inspired me over the years cause she believe that a woman should all ways have confidence in herself. If LisaRay is as strong as she seem to be in her movies she will bounce back, and I will be in her corner. Its his lost.

Its really sad, it makes me wonder if he was kind to her, if he said mean things, or if she got tired of him, becasue she is really to pretty for a guy like him, maybe she knew it was only for a min. type of relationship, it just makes you wonder, the real reasons why.

Big Dog - I truly believe that also. People say she have a lot of wealth, etc. When you consider all the brothers in the US and around the world she chose him and he chose her. so what else is there. hmmmmmm? how about being nearer to the Queen of England, carrying prestige, honor and royalty, being acquainted with other foreign leaders wives, pomp and pageantry. I believe that looks kinda good on her resume. Don't you think. But wait - she left the good USA for a what? weak country? I guess it aint all the weak when you have to lower yourself to that status huh!

Lisa Raye is no different from any other woman because of her superstardom. I think that the husband is just taking advantage of his moment in the spotlight as head of the island and a lot of lonely women can't stand to see a happy couple trying to do good!By him being of highness right now I think that it has gone to his head and he feels that he can do whatever he wants right now. WRONG!!!!!!!
