Natalie Cole has been hospitalized in New York City.

The eight-time Grammy Award winner has suffered a setback in her treatment for Hepatitis C, reports 'People' magazine.

Side effects of her chemotherapy treatment for the liver disease, coupled with a hectic promotional schedule in support of her just-released new album are reportedly what lead to Cole's hospitalization.

The 'This Will Be' singer, 58, was diagnosed with the liver disease in April and has been free of the hepatitis C virus since starting treatment this summer. Her doctors believe she contracted the virus 25 years ago when she abused heroin, which she documented in her best-selling memoir 'Angel On My Shoulder,' which was made into an NBC telepic.

According to her rep, she will return to her home in Los Angeles in the coming days and will be on a month-long bed rest so she can recuperate.

All current performances are postponed.

"It's debilitating," Cole told 'People' last month about the virus. "My hair is starting to fall out [from the chemo]. I lost 15 lbs. and I looked like a scarecrow."
