According to Beyoncé the double disc set introduces the world to her alter ego 'Sasha Fierce,' as she explains: "I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage, this alter ego that I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am," she revealed in a statement. "That's why half the record, I Am, is about who I am underneath all the makeup, underneath the lights, and underneath all the exciting star drama. And Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage. The double album allows me to take more risks and really step out of myself, or shall I say, step more into myself, and reveal a side of me that people only know me see." 'I Am Sasha Fierce' features the singles 'If I Were A Boy' and 'Single Ladies' which is currently at the #10 slot on Billboard's Hot R&B, Hip-Hop songs.

Morgan contributed to Blige's song 'Good Woman Down,' while Jay-Z sampled her late 1980s hit 'Fool's Paradise' for his single 'Can't Knock the Hustle.'
10/30/08: Tony Rich
Responsible for penning tracks for the likes of Johnny Gill and Boyz II Men, singer songwriter Tony Rich returns to the music scene with his latest opus 'Exist.' The Hidden Beach Recordings release, which features the lead single 'Part The Waves,' challenged the singer to think outside of the box and try new creative techniques to record. "It put me in a position to where I really started to delve into all of my creative options," he recently told Eur Web. "I really started working on my oil paintings, doing my photography, and my poetry, which brought me to the point of creating 'Exist.' 'Exist' was the result of that and I have a book that parallels with the record that's composed of all of my writings." Tony Rich's 'Exist' is in stores now.
Corell claims Smith went ballistic on him while he was taking photos of attendees at Vegas's annual Men's Apparel and Garment Industry Convention. Allegedly Mos snatched Volker's camera from around his neck before smashing it to the ground and taking off with the busted equipment. And apparently the photographer was left with a cut on his left hand following the incident.
Hopefully it wasn't life threatening.
A warrant has been issued for Mos Def's arrest. He faces faces charges of felony robbery and malicious destruction of private property.

re. post by "mgr" (part 2) And/or Google "Who's a Rat?" re. FBI collaboration with mobsters for a somewhat clearer, more troubling peak behind the veil). In several of the clubs that I walked into, I thought I was stepping onto an HBO set, populated by Soprano lookalikes... but these creeps were humorously real and violently ill-tempered. Outrageous. In this day and age, I wouldn't have believed Las Vegas could still be so openly, blatantly corrupt and dangerous a place as it most surely and unfortunately continues to be. What a crock of lies that the Vegas Visitor's Bureau foists onto the naive public with their PR campaigns. An honest claim would be: Visitors beware, this is a seriously flawed town! Instead they glibbly tout, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"? Yeah, I'm sure or nobody would come here, for to this very day it is certainly a bad place run by bad people and if anyone tells you otherwise, they are either unfamiliar with the town/don't live there or if they do in fact live in Vegas and tell you to your face that the place has been cleaned up, they are a liar. What is going on there is a big story that the national media has utterly and completely overlooked. I really wonder why.

Well since i wasn't there i can't really say who was at fault, but Mos Def seems like he has a good head on his shoulders and it seems out of character for him to do anything reckless like that without being provoked. Maybe the photographer was invading his space. I just give him the benefit of doubt.

i have no doubt that the photographer instigated this incident, the paparazzi needs to have some kind of rules and regulations in place, they are out of control.

Mos Def is actually a pretty talented guy. He is known to be pretty down to earth. I think a slap on the wrist is enough rather than talk of felony counts and such. Leave the guy be, those papparazi types are usually askin for it.

I agree with Joe, Mos Def seems to be a level headed guy and was most likely provoked. It's amazing that the bizarre behavior of some of the papparazi isn't against the law by now. For those of you who seem to not know who Mos Def is, you are missing out. An amazing actor/poet/rapper to say the least. Bratprincess your comment was unnecessary and shows your ignorance, you obviously harbor hate for black people and should find a different forum to express your dumb ideals.
