Is a real "change" in politics really happening. Is George W. Bush planning to go out with a bang? It appears so. Among his list of presidential pardons – released publicly yesterday -- the 43rd President of the United States commuted the sentence of rapper/producer John Forte, who has been in prison for the past few years for transporting drugs.
Forte, whose real name is John Edward Forte, was arrested at Newark International Airport in 2000 for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to distribute. Police discovered the Fugees-cohort with two briefcases filled with liquid cocaine, which they estimated were worth $1.4 million.
Academy and Grammy Award winning singer Carly Simon and her son, Ben Taylor, who attended the upper crust boarding school Exeter Academy with Forte, were vocal advocates for Forte's release and reportedly paid for his legal expenses. The rapper/producer, who co-wrote two songs on the Fugees' 1996 breakthrough, 'The Score' and was also signed to Columbia Records, was sentenced to the mandatory minimum of 14 years and was serving time in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
"I allowed elements to be near me -- not drugs but people," he told 'Rolling Stone' in 2002. "That's what caught me up. I was too accessible. I was too here, I was too there. The price the government wants me to pay for that is fourteen years."
Luckily for Forte, he will be released December 22 after serving just over seven years. According to published reports, he must serve five years of supervised probation.
A native of the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York, Forte attended New York University before dropping out to work at Rawkus Entertainment, a New York City based music company whose roster included Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Pharaoh Monch. A chance meeting with Lauryn Hill led him to join The Fugees' Refugee Camp Crew. He released his solo debut album, 'Poly-Sci' in 1998.

John may Allah (God) bless you to have allowed the time to serve you and not the other way around. Hopefully you can be a vessel that God uses to teach others of the ramifications of making bad and uninformed decisions. You are still a young man who can do alot for the world. You seem like a well thought out and deliberate young man and obiviousely a very talented young man. You could establish a foundation for incaracerated family members and write a book about your experiences. I hope that maybe you could be the vessel that unites the fugee band. May God bless you as you make your journey back to freedom that youre not stained by the experience. Peace and Paradise and thank you for reading these words. World Peace Go Barack H. Obama 1/20/09

I made a comment some months ago that said if John McCain is elected President then the next day the stock of the African American goes down. But if Barack
Obama is elected the next day the stock of African Americans goes up. This is the proof.
Its been a long time coming, and no it cannot happen fast enough to make up for all that has occured. But change is happening, and I hope we come to like the way it feels.
Now let us set about proving that the Lord has entrusted the right people with the leadership of the freeworld. And kake decisions

I have never heard of Liquid Ccaine before is that something new? Bush will probably need a hook-up after he leaves office but all he has to do is call Olliver North and pardon "FREEWAY ROSS."

Liquid cocaine, a solution of cocaine HCl, is often used in rhinoplasty (nose surgery). I learned this in the eighties, when I had surgery. I was soaking the clotted-blood loose from the wooden stents inside my nose, using Ocean (saline solution) and my heart began to pound like crazy! This is something which you should NEVER see, outside a hospital... It must have been stoen.

I have never heard of John Forte but good for him. Its about time Bush did something worth mentioning.
Liquid Cocaine is how some transport it by soaking it into materials such as clothes and then processing it later.

Poor, helpless, defenseless animals were tortured by Vick; they had no say in the matter. No one makes anyone take drugs. Dogs are like children when they can't speak up for themsleves; he used them brutally to make money. I hope he rots in hell. I'm not fond of drug pushers, but really if you're not using, all you have to do is walk away and if you don't, then it was your choice to use. The dogs had no choice - many of them died. What a coward you are Vick - get in the ring yourself and box for money - don't use helpless animals. I bet Mickey Rourke would love to beat the crap out of someone who uses defenseless animals for recreation. You're a disgrace to the human race.

Vick used game dogs for entertainment.Just like we do professional boxers. They fight,we bet and watch it at sports bars.Vick was not in this just for making $$$ He was the 100million dollar man...And dogs can tuck their tails and not fight.

This is really for POCHANTIS.... are you really that naive? he used it to bring in more money cuz he was a greedy bastard, as are most of the rich and famous... and it's nothing at all like boxing, in boxing (or at least last i checked) the boxers don't die... the aren't cruelly executed... and if the dogs chose not to fight.. they would have died... either by the cruel and unusual forms of execution provided by Vick (such as the mud pit where he drowned them, or the doggy electric chair)... last i checked boxers didn't get eaten alive by dogs that had been beaten in to a frenzy and starved for several days for not fighting either
