It's official. Broadway will see another revival of August Wilson. The late, great playwright's much lauded play, 'Joe Turner's Come and Gone,' is set to begin previews on March 19 at the Belasco Theatre.
While no casting has officially been announced, the show will officially open on Aptil 16.
'Joe Turner's Come and Gone' originally opened on The Great White Way in 1988 and received a Tony nomination for Best Play and won that year's New York Drama Critics Circle Award.

The play marked Academy Award nominated actress Angela Bassett's Broadway debut and remains her lone outing there. Delroy Lindo also starred in the Lloyd Richards-directed production (pictured above).
Set in 1911, 'Joe Turner's Come and Gone' ells the story of Herald Loomis who, after serving seven years of hard labor, has journeyed North (with his young daughter in tow) and arrives at a Pittsburgh boarding house filled with memorable characters who aid him in his search for inner freedom.
Wilson, who died in 2005, wrote a ten-play cycle exploring African American life, decade decade-by-decade, through the 20th century in Pittsburgh. Titles include 'Fences,' 'Gem of the Ocean,' 'Jitney,' 'The Piano Lesson,' and 'Two Trains Running.'
His plays have garnered numerous awards including two Pulitzer Prizes, the Tony Award for Best Play, two Drama Desk Awards, an Olivier Award, and eight prizes for Best Play from the New York Drama Critics Circle.
A who's who of black entertainment's very best have starred in his works, including Roscoe Lee Browne, Leslie Uggams, S. Epatha Merkerson, James Earl Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Viola Davis, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Laurence Fishburne.
