It's just January and BET is ready to get the party started with a programming grid that surely will delight their loyal audience.
The African American-geared, Viacom-owned television network rolled out some of its spring planning during the Television Critics Association conference last weekend in Los Angeles.
Highlights include this year's 'BET Honors,' taking place Jan. 17 at Washington D.C.'s historic Warner Theater. "We have once again brought together a truly inspiring group of honorees,"said BET Chairman and CEO Debra Lee. "We're happy to announce that we have a terrific lineup of performers and presenters joining us."

He who is without SIN, Please let them cast the first stone. Have they looked in their closets of late? What have THEY done for their community lately? A neighbor? A stranger even? Have they opened any restuarants and given any brother or sister a JOB? When was the last time tey gave to a charity? How dare they write in and say that "Magic" and MRS. MARY J.BLIGE are not deserving! Who are they? Those negative comments are probably from people who are very low on self asteem, and the only way that they can feel good about themselves is down someone else who is doing good toward others.
Well, for ALL you haters...you ARE my Motivators! I will continue to do my part and help uplift any of my brothers and sisters in any way possible. And I am not a wealthy person as far as monetary means, but spiritually, I AM RICH!

For the record, Magic does not have AIDS!.He is HIV positive, two different things. People really need to continue educating themselves about HIV and AIDs.
The BET Honors show last night was fantastic, and everyone honored deserved it and more. I do agree with another poster about honoring everyday people in our communities, that would be great.
Anita Baker was awesome as I knew she would be, and I Anthony Hamilton left me speechless after singing a "classic" Donny Hathaway song. Great show!

I just read a powerful article about Tyler Perry at www.ebmpublishing.com. The article was wonderfully written and showed a different side of him. It discussed in detail his approach to life and commitment to improving the community. It’s an engaging, thought provoking article that gave me a new found level of respect for him
