And some thought a Broadway-bound production of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' was a bit much.
Not so. A Barack Obama inspired musical will begin performances in the London area next month.
Titled 'Obama On My Mind,' the show will feature book, music and lyrics by American crime writer and filmmaker Teddy Hayes. Performances will begin at Islington's Hen and Chickens Theatre on March 3 with an official opening March 5. The production, which previously work shopped at Baron's Court Theatre last year, will run to March 21.

"The process of electing a President is very different from Britain,' Hayes said. "It's a long 15-month campaign with a lot of back-biting and conflict as the campaign impacts on personal lives and vice versa." Best known as the author of the Harlem-based 'Devil Barnett' series of detective novels, Hayes previously produced the musical 'The Baskerville Beast, 'a musical adaptation of Dickens' 'Great Expectations.'
"Celebrating the election and inauguration of America's first black president, Obama On My Mind takes a humorous look at the weird and wonderful world behind the scenes of a small Obama campaign office and the larger than life characters who make the wheels turn, the cogs whirr and bring in the votes," the press materials boast. "Pop, gospel, jazz and soft rock come together in a politically inspired romp featuring over 11 loyal, obsessive and downright peculiar personalities, striving to get their man into the White House."
'Obama On My Mind' is directed by Tim McArthur, who is also responsible for the musical staging, with musical direction by Chris Jerome. Casting has yet to be finalized, but soul singer Ruby Turner has recorded the title track, which can be heard on the show's website.
And there may be more from where that comes; Hollywood A-lister Tyler Perry has similar designs. During a recent interview with BlackVoices.com, the acclaimed playwright and filmmaker revealed that an upcoming production, 'For the Love of You,' is "inspired" by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama's "love for each other."

There's absolutely nothing any man, or woman, can do to harm Barack Obama, or to change his God-given destiny. What can a "musical" do to harm him? He is ordained, anointed, and blessed for success. And, the whole world loves him. (Except a few sick people that don't even like themselves; to hell with them, I say.)

Speaking of Barack Obama: LONG LIVE EMPEROR BARACK OBAMA!
Obama is a racial-minority individual, and in his heart and mind he inevitably condemns racism:
There is bad news about George Herbert Walker Bush.
What if basically all racial-minority people would subscribe to the interpretations that George Herbert Walker Bush committed monstrous, racist, hate crimes while he was the President of the United States?
It will eventually come out: it is only a matter of time.
