What would the Grammy Awards be without some sort of drama?
Folks are still wondering what happened with an alleged altercation involving chart-topping lovebirds Chris Brown and Rihanna. One thing is for sure, their much-hyped Grammy performances were canceled in the eleventh hour – literally tonight.
"We have just been informed that Rihanna will not be attending tonight's '51st Annual Grammy Awards.' We're sorry she is unable to join us this evening," The Recording Academy issued in a terse statement 45 minutes before the big show – as commercials announcing the Barbados born beauty's appearance continued to air on CBS, which is telecasting the awards.
There are numerous reports saying the two were involved in a car accident, but a rep for Rihanna reportedly did not confirm or deny the story when asked for comment by 'MTV News.' "Rihanna is well. Thank you for the care and support" her longtime record company spokesperson confirmed to BlackVoices.com via email.
Meanwhile, Brown, who is a spokesperson for Wrigley's Doublemint gum, is under investigation for felony battery after an altercation that took place in a vehicle early Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

FACT (picture shows that she was assaulted) or fiction, it is DEFINITELY DISAPPOINTING!!!.
As I viewed the picture of Rihanna a deep sadness filled my heart, b/c I thought about what she may have been feeling and or thinking as the assault continued...'Will someone help me?; will his blows kill me?; I don't want to die like this!' and much more I'm sure.
My thoughts after viewing the picture were: he's beat her before (at least 2 times...the 1st time usually a slap/agressive push, 2nd time usually a small wound or bruising, and then the violent beatings escalate, now review the picture); afterwhich, he begged her not to expose his PHYSICAL ABUSE towards her, and/or said he would 'go to THERAPY', and you know he told her "I LOVE YOU!, I'M SORRY!, I SWEAR I'LL NEVER HIT YOU AGAIN!".
There's NO REASON(S) for a man/woman to physically abuse their mate. Excuses of: who started it, words that were said, actions(played) to get a reaction, jealous thoughts, proof of cheating, proof of lying, & all the other EXCUSES for physical abuse/domestic violence do not/should not substantiate a violent reaction. For certain, physical abuse/domestic violence stems deeper(environment factors...household issues...dysfunctional family dynamics) than the EXCUSES given above; and it does not stop by ignoring it, acting like it did'nt happen, allowing the abuser to get off w/no consequences & continuing a relationship w/the abuser.
Rihanna and Chris are high profile artists who influence people; which holds them to a certain standard of responsibility for their actions. The TRUTH is, young girls/boys will receive the outcome of this assault as how life/relationships are maintained. No consequences relays that boys/men are to use violence in their relationships and girls/women expect/allow abuse in their relationships. Consequences relays that boys/men do not use violence in their relationships and girls women never expect nor allow violence in their relationships.
I'm a 47y.o. woman slapped once(only and never again by anyone) by the man(not a REAL MAN) who was my husband. I was 23y.o.(1985) when he slapped the s*** out of me. I was shocked and felt betrayed, but I got over the shock & betrayal by moving out of our apartment and getting a divorce...IMMEDIATELY!!! b/c I knew/understood that it would get worse. I did not accept his phone calls: nor his requests to see me; but you know he came to my job anyway, I told him I never wanted to see him again, and I have not seen/talked to him since 1986. Yes, I believe in forgiveness; and giving (forgiveness) an opportunity for that person to reset what has occured; except abuse, once is one time too many...yes, I forgave him in my heart and never gave an opportunity for him to reset what occured b/c there are NO EXCUSES FOR PHYSICAL ABUSE AND OR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE...NOT EVER!!! I am not mad at him nor bitter towards men, I've accepted that event in my life for what it is...a learning experience for me to build a personal foundation of what I will/will not accept or allow in MY LIFE!
