What would the Grammy Awards be without some sort of drama?
Folks are still wondering what happened with an alleged altercation involving chart-topping lovebirds Chris Brown and Rihanna. One thing is for sure, their much-hyped Grammy performances were canceled in the eleventh hour – literally tonight.
"We have just been informed that Rihanna will not be attending tonight's '51st Annual Grammy Awards.' We're sorry she is unable to join us this evening," The Recording Academy issued in a terse statement 45 minutes before the big show – as commercials announcing the Barbados born beauty's appearance continued to air on CBS, which is telecasting the awards.
There are numerous reports saying the two were involved in a car accident, but a rep for Rihanna reportedly did not confirm or deny the story when asked for comment by 'MTV News.' "Rihanna is well. Thank you for the care and support" her longtime record company spokesperson confirmed to BlackVoices.com via email.
Meanwhile, Brown, who is a spokesperson for Wrigley's Doublemint gum, is under investigation for felony battery after an altercation that took place in a vehicle early Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Let's not jump to conclusions before the facts come out. Being charged with a crime does not mean you are guilty. If the charges turn out to be true that he physically assaulted her then let the chips fall where they may. With that being said...although I DO NOT condone putting hands on a female in violence or any other unapproved manner, sometimes men as a way of defending themselves may unintentionally hit, scratch or whatever in order to keep from getting assaulted. It sometimes happen. I hope for this young couples' sake...this situation somehow brings about a happy ending. May God Bless them both.

Are you people twelves years old or what? It doesn't matter what she said or did, no man has a right to hit a woman! Young ladies please keep this in mind. This isn't love or passion! Also, it would be a tragic mistake for her to take him back. It would send the wrong message to all of the impressionable young ladies who look up to her.

Whoever said a woman doesn't deserve to be hit needs to be hit. I don't care if it's a man or a woman and they try to put hands on you then it is justified. If a woman pulls a gun or a knife or any type of weapon and you get the drop on her then drop her and maker sure she stays down. That goes double if not tripple for men!
