Platinum-selling R&B crooner Chris Brown can now say he's in a class along with such icons as Michael Phelps, Kobe Bryant and Whoopi Goldberg – all folks who lost endorsement deals due to headline grabbing controversy.
Today, the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company suspended the major marketing campaign, which featured the Jive Records singer.

A spokesperson for the company issued the following statement regarding Brown's advertising campaign for Doublemint gum:
"Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen. However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved. Given the current information around the incident is speculative it is premature for us to comment further."
Sunday night, the chart-topper was arrested for allegedly assaulting an unidentified woman – who many believe was his girlfriend Rihanna -- in Los Angeles earlier that day.
A Jive Records spokesperson did not respond to inquiries regarding the controversy.

i am from virginia. the true VA as i call it. down south and not from the northern virginia(nova) that chris brown is from. he is not from any hard streets by far. i think strongly that people play on the "women getting hit by a man thing" to much. it has been strongly reported that she is not testifying against him. i get tired of women playing victim until the cops come. if you think he is so bad then testify. dont even make a big deal about it if you arent going to make the final step against him. it makes women look weak and spiteful.
i just want to ask everyone espcially the women this one question. i know that it gets played out a lot but i really really think that it is a vaulable question to ask. if all that is being said is true and rhianna did give chris a std what would be the cause if the tables were turned? i dont know about you but i would probably be just as heated as chris was. i understand that men should not hit women, but you and i(as women) need to realize that women do a lot to make men get mad. men do a lot to do make women mad also, but sometimes women fall back on the fact that men arent(or shouldnt) hit women and so we feel like we can do and act however we want to. its sad. if a man gave me an std and we were in a committed relationship and "reportly engaged" i would possibly a helluva lot more than what chris did to her. i can honestly tell you. i believe that the std that has been most commonly reported in herpes. if you dont know if you get herpes you hav eit for life. i mean it isnt anywhere near as deadly as aids/hiv put it is with you FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. i think a person might respond extremely strongly to becoming infected with it. i think before any of us pass judgement maybe we should step back and lay out all the facts and really look at everything; good, bad, and HERPES.

OMG, how could something so serious be taken so lightly. Put yourself in her shoes, let that be your sister, or your mother. Do you think it is really ok for a man to hit a woman? What has this world come to? We should never take something like this lightly. I am sure he would never raise his hands to a man because he is not a real man, only a kid trying to carry on the role of a man.
No matter what she did, she did not deserve to be hit. I am a product of abuse. He was never provoked, he was just an abuser who wanted power. These type people need to be stopped. It only gets worse.

When you look at the young lady she seems to like to be pushed around. Remmeber he is american. If he was from her home she would have gotten worse than that.
