Platinum-selling R&B crooner Chris Brown can now say he's in a class along with such icons as Michael Phelps, Kobe Bryant and Whoopi Goldberg – all folks who lost endorsement deals due to headline grabbing controversy.
Today, the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company suspended the major marketing campaign, which featured the Jive Records singer.

A spokesperson for the company issued the following statement regarding Brown's advertising campaign for Doublemint gum:
"Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen. However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved. Given the current information around the incident is speculative it is premature for us to comment further."
Sunday night, the chart-topper was arrested for allegedly assaulting an unidentified woman – who many believe was his girlfriend Rihanna -- in Los Angeles earlier that day.
A Jive Records spokesperson did not respond to inquiries regarding the controversy.

This is just an extremely unfortunate occurence. No one knows what happened exactly or why. I hate that there are so many speculations because like I said no one knows, but God and the two of them. If they're keeping quiet on the details, they're doing so for a reason. Its a very personal ordeal and I wish that the media could focus on something other than people's private lives for once...like ways to contribute towards getting our economy together or hey maybe even minding their own business for once. My prayers go out to Chris Brown and Rihanna and I hope that whatever needs to be done to resolve this matter will be done!

I really think we should boycott his concerts..those that go..I don't...also we should also should not buy his cd's....No man should ever hit a woman..no matter what..and i just hope that Rhianna has enough sense in her beautiful and talented head to just drop him like a hot potato...He is dangerous ...obviously....unless he was altered in some drug...or alcohol..cuz there are men that turn crazy when alcohol has been consumed..I should know..My last boyfriend was a drinker...and a looser.....I wish Rhianna the best..I hope she gets physically better so we can see her perform..again on television cuz since i am handicapped..television is better for alot of us..

My soul hurts for the two of them! I pray God will help them both.Rihanna is so beautiful and she's more mature than Chris. I don't know what happened , I don't want to even think about Herpes. I think Rihanna said or did something to cause this. Chris is a young Man trying to grow up. Maybe the relationship is unbalanced with Age,and Upbringing ,or maybe even past abuse. All I know is that "All are Punished"! They both have careers in a business that eats its young! Hold on to yourselves babies. Rihanna consider your jealousy, and Chris remember who you are.
