In 2006 , the former Atlantic Records recording artist graced the small screen with her short-lived BET series 'Countdown to Lockdown,' which had the highest-rated premiere in the network's history. The show documented the rapper's final two weeks of freedom before serving one-year-and-a-day in a Philadelphia Detention Center for conspiracy and perjury of a 2001 shooting outside New York radio station Hot 97.
Now that she's affiliated with the nationally syndicated 'Dancing with the Stars,' the pint-size rapper can take advantage of the show to market her forthcoming as-yet-untitled fifth album, set for release later this year.
"I'm getting ready to come with a whole new flavor, a whole new style," she told 'MTV News' last month. "And I don't care what nobody says, I'm not gonna let anyone pigeonhole me. This is what it is. I'm coming with it...I'm gonna be singing, I'm gonna be flowing. Whatever I feel. It's not gonna be so strategic or placed. It's gonna be whatever I feel. I'm gonna have fun on my next album. It's coming soon. Really soon."
The two-hour season premiere of 'Dancing with the Stars' airs on March 9 at 8PM/ET.

Lil kim is beautiful and always will be but, i think she will make the African American culture shine if she would be more of a role model to girls, istead of putting her self out there. She is so pretty and talented, and i hate t see it go to waste. : )

She would also be a better role model to young African America women, if she refrained from making "shout outs" to all her girls at the penetentiary. Seriously? This is one show that the entire family can watch, and she's glorifying prison? Give me a break. ABC should be ashamed of themselves for airing such remarks.

She went under the knife as a result of physical abuse. I'm glad she's doing other things. This DWTS is a good move. I wish her well.

lmao. Blackvoices purposely put a horrible picture of her on this page. lmao. I just can't stop laughing. What the heck is wrong with her stomache... Just completely ridiculous.lol. And why in the world would anyone want her to be a role model? I'm sure she doesn't want to be a role model anyway. Or does she?

Dawn, I'm with you. My friends and I always talk about how we wish the old Kimberly Jones would come back because this new chick is messing up her reputation. I can't say I "loooooooooove" 'Lil Kim but I do respect her game however, I am really disappointed at how she has butchered her God-given body so she can look like Donnatella Vercaci (I know I spelled that wrong). I read a long time ago that she wanted to look like a Barbi Doll so she started altering her look but quite frankly, I would never buy a doll that looked like that. I so wish she could reverse the damage but since she can't, me and my friends will continue to drift on our memories of the old Kimberly Jones.
