Legendary televangelist Dr. Frederick K.C. Price is ready to pass on the torch -- and keep it in the family at the same time. The esteemed founder of the Crenshaw Christian Center (CCC) -- in the Los Angeles area -- is leaving his post as the head pastor of the 22,000-member megachurch and will install his son, Pastor Frederick Price, Jr., as his successor.
It will all be made official on March 15, the same day that the junior Pastor Price turns 30 years old.
"Fred will start his public ministry at the same age Jesus did. That is prophetic," said the elder Price, who will turn 77 this year during the church's 35th anniversary celebration.
"I will still be around as [the] apostle and working with the board of directors, but it's time for Pastor Price, Jr. to get into the driver's seat. I will still mentor him."
Price Jr. was ordained in February of 2003 and has been an advocate for youth activity in the church, creating a special Sunday service called Hip-Hop Sunday to attract younger churchgoers. One of the first churches to mesh hip-hop with faith, the service is now called The BluePrint.
Aside from helming that initiative, he would regularly minister on Sundays when his father was away on business trips.
"Becoming pastor of Crenshaw Christian Center is an honor of high esteem," he said. "To follow in the footsteps of my father, the apostle of faith, is a privilege and a challenge I look forward to taking on."
Dr. Price is one of the first black ministers to head a megachurch and an evangelical broadcast on television that reaches over 15 million households each week. He is also known for his candid teachings, such as his controversial Race, Religion and Racism series that took him three years to complete. The author of more than 50 books, he has mentored many highly recognized ministers influencing the church today.
"I will still uphold the same high standards of teaching and excellence my father brought to the pulpit," Price Jr. said.

The question: Are you religious? I answered "no". Being religious is not the same as having a spiritual relationship with God. One can be religious and still doesn't know God, have filed to acknowledge that Christ died for the sins of the world as well as to do away with sickness and diseases. I am a spirit living in a 3-D world to having a human experience that will allow me to become spiritually intuned, evolved and connected with the source of "ALL" creation. I have to work and embrace the knowledge of the "WORD" and practice it as wellas become cognizant of its power. There is one commandment. Mainly, "Love one another, as I have loved you. by this all men will know that you're my disciples if you have love for one another." Religion offers no hope, direction for the lost souls. Being religious is based on rigid dogmas.

I've always liked and listened to FCP's ministry. He's an excellent teacher and there aren't many fine teachers. His son is also rather good at teaching, and I'll continue to tune in to the program. Fredrick Price has thought me much about "Faith", and having a positive relationship with God. His program and others has given me the tools to protect myself from a sometimes hostile environment. I wish him and his family much success in the continuation of their journey.

Hey Charles, sounds like are a player-hater,get a grip on life. 1) what is wrong with a father passing the torch on to his son, wouldn't that be a good thing, and by the way. What torch are you passinng on to your son or sons. If you would won't the best for yourself, why not your kids as well. 2)Reading your comments proves how dumb and foolish you are, you say that you would rather say home and watch for free on T.V., ask your self, Who is paying for His airtime, If you claim that read and hear what is being proclaimed, than the thoughts and comments would not come from another BLACK man, Jesue was not a poor man, He feed and sheltered 13+ deciples for 3+ years, and one of them was stealing money and no one was the wiser except Jesus,Thats why people like you are always broke, if you ever notice any time you holla the word free black people are always the frist ones in line, learn how to put some footwork in, free is not always FREE, 3) I take it you live in L.A., What are you doing about the crackheads, whore's, thugs, gangbangers, drugs and proverty, CCC offers alot of programs that supports your community, what are and have you done on these issues, I live in Oakland and our churches do the same as Dr. Price, but you can not help people who do not want help. as for as people going into foreclosures, that is a govenmental issue, I don't about you up on capital hill, crying about were our tax dollars are being spent, I pay taxes and i hope you do too, ask your local government and city leaders, where's the money, Churches are there to help the community, and there are enough of them to go around, not to support those who show up when times get bad, if you support your church your church will support you, not your computer or T.V.set.4) I voted yes on prop 8, if had any values you would too, how can two men or two women reproduce any thing, without reproduction we will cease to exists,(FOOL)

Do we need more brats being born in the world? I think that people should mind their business. What does it matter to you who sleeps with whom? It's bigots like yourself that keep the world in the turmoil it's in.
And don't come preaching about Leviticus and Romans either. I'm not so sure that the Bible is being represented in it's entirety. What about all of the lost books that are now being found? One would think that God would've ensured that his WHOLE WORD was carefully documented.
You people (Christians)are THE most pious, judgmental, opinionated, crass, heartless, condescending, misinformed ever to walk this earth. And you think you are doing God's will here on earth?
Don't be surprised when you hear, "I know ye not, depart from me, ye workers of iniquity"; and the pure gay individual with a good heart and full of love, goes sashaying into heaven right before your eye that has a big a@@ beam sticking out of it!
I bet you watch gay porn when no one is around!

Good Morning All
What most people fail to realize is that the Bible tells us to tithe 10 percent of our income. If everyone in the church would tithe that 10 percent there would be no need for anyother collection of money. It does take money to run a ministry or church. That is unless you want to sit in a cold building with no lights etc.
The other thing that I would like for all to consider is that everything is relative to the time and place. Yes Jesus rode a donkey, there were no lincolns in that time. It is the same thing that I say when I hear people say that woman are not supposed to wear pants because the Bible say so, well men did not wear pants in that Bible writing time. Think about it. And trust me The Lord did not and does not want us to be poor and destitute, just as he does not want us to do other un GODLY things. STOP HATING!!!
Good luck to Minister Price, Jr and hopefully with his father's mentoring he will be a source of hope and promise to others.
Love you all
