It was only a matter of time. Since news broke on Feb. 8 about Chris Brown and Rihanna's alleged altercation prior to this year's Grammy Awards, many have speculated about how severe the multiplatinum singer's injuries were.
Various media outlets reported that Rihanna's injuries were "horrific" and that photos demonstrated "devastating proof of abuse."
Unfortunately, those early police reports appear to be true.
Late Thursday evening, TMZ obtained a photo taken of the 'SOS' singer following the dispute.
The chart-topping couple's ordeal has been a topic of discussion among many celebrities, including former Def Jam president Jay-Z , who recently spoke out in support of Rihanna.

"This is a real situation," he said in Phoenix during NBA All-Star weekend. "You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that," he continued.
"I just think we should all support her. She's going through a tough time. You have to realize she's a young girl, as well. She's very young."
Brown turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department on Feb. 8 and was charged with one count of felony criminal threats. He was later released on $50,000 bail. A week later, he released a statement expressing his regret.

“All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsions, habit, reason, passion and desire.”
Aristotle
My concern here is that we are using the Rihanna and Chris Brown incident to stereotype men who are involved in one-off (isolated) and other minor incidents. I’m concerned about a child or children losing a good parent and a promising future, after their parents fail to resolve resolvable issues.

The statement, “If a man hits you once, he will hit you again” is no different from, “All black people are lazy.” They are both stereotypes. Oprah’s statement, among other things, disregards the unique character traits of the individuals involved, the history of the subject relationships, and the specifics of one-off incidents, some of which may even mitigate the crime.

As much as I hate to say it, their are too many forces out there that want to place every young
Black man in the prison system. What he needs is
help not jail time. At his age his and her's emotions are high and extreme they both need help in controlling anger. He will need more since as a man he will be watched.

I believe we all make mistakes in our lives, and we can only hope, we all learn from them. When and if their ready for change they will, and I'm sure the outcome to all situations they become involved in or with each other will be handled diffrently. Both reacted negative towards one another. Her on the way she handled him getting a text and him ofcourse by hitting her. I believe the best thing for all of us to do is pray for them both, and not point the finger. I wish you both good-luck!

This shows that money doesn't make the person and that goes both ways; she has taken a more public beating this time only because someone called the police. She is so tiny he should be dealt with before going to counseling. She needs counseling also and I pray that both of them recover healthly without each other.
