Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies, including assault and making criminal threats, the Associated Press reports. The R&B superstar turned himself in to Los Angeles Police Department officials on Feb. 8, after an alleged altercation with his girlfriend, chart-topping singer Rihanna.
The 19-year-old Jive Records recording artist was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats after police say a woman identified him as her attacker.
A person familiar with the incident but not authorized to speak publicly identified the woman as Brown's girlfriend, Rihanna.
On Feb.19, photos surfaced of the 20-year-old Barbados born beauty --exclusively via TMZ.com-- clearly proving that she was beaten and battered. The Def Jam Records chanteuse, who's also a spokesperson for Cover Girl Cosmetics and Gucci, has yet to publicly speak about the incident, but she did send a note out to her fans that she was "strong and doing well."
The College Survival Guide
A Fridge
Regardless of whether you have a wonderful sized meal plan, your fridge may come in handy with leftovers or when you feel like stocking it with bottled drinks.
Computer
The convenience of a computer is essential when sending your kids off to college. Forget the hike to the computer lab across campus students need a computer in the comfort of their room. A printer comes in handy as well. Depending on whether your child plans to carry his laptop around campus, you might opt for a desk top since they're lighter on the pockets.
Snacks
You will surely survive with off of a meal plan but it doesn't hurt to stock up on snacks when you don't feel like leaving your dorm room. Bottled water, pop corn, cereal and Ramen noodles are all low budget snacks to stock up on. Just be weary of the freshman 15.
Things from home
Some college students suffer from homesickness the first year. It's best to surround yourself with things like photos of the family, pillows or even stuffed animals. Anything that reminds your child of home.
MP3 Player
With all the stress that comes from school and exams, sometimes it's nice to block out the chaos in your life and even your roommate with music. It's nearly impossible to find students walking to class who aren't jamming to tunes.
Budget
Students who enter college often come in at the ripening age of 18. A great time for credit cards. Parents beware, your child may end up ruining their credit at a young age
Alarm Clock
When you're in college you don't have the luxury of getting awaken by your parents. It's now your responsibility to get to class on time so alarm clocks are a must. But keep your roommate in mind. You shouldn't wake him up ever morning with a blow horn alarm.
Cleaning supplies
Now you don't necessarily need to bring in the rubber gloves, mop and gas mask but it doesn't hurt to bring along Clorox all purpose wipes for spills or dust. Vacuums and brooms come in handy too depending if you have a carpeted dorm.
Bedding
What most parents aren't aware of is that most college beds are twin sized but extra long and require special sheets. When shopping keep your eye open for sheets that clearly state 'extra long' or else your child may come up short.
Shower shoes
You really don't know what some people do in the shower these days. College showers are known to be creeping with germs so spare yourself the fungus and purchase flip flops for the shower. You'll thank us later!
Police reportedly presented their case weeks ago, but prosecutors asked for more information.
Meanwhile, everyone else from family members to wardrobe stylists, thug rap icon 50 Cent, neo-soul diva Angie Stone and even Gayle King has chimed in about the drama.Last weekend, news of the couple reuniting made headlines. The two singers were reportedly spotted at rap mogul Sean Combs's Miami mansion, then flying back to Los Angeles on a private plane.
Brown is expected to be arraigned today at 3:30 PM in downtown LA. There are reports that he could face a maximum of four years and eight months in prison.

I do not believe Chris "beat her down". I think he tried to protect himself and he was the one who jumped out of the car...remember! The girl is a jealous spoiled young woman who wants what she wants and doesn't want Chris to date anyone else. You will all see when the trial comes out!

After reading the charges, I don't see why Rihanna is spending time with him now, if the reconciliation reports are true. Hopefully, she will spend some time away from the situation and reconsider.

You don't know how it feels. Its fine to look in from a 3rd party and give your opinion, but you really can't decide what someone else would do. I was in the same situation 2 years ago. What made it worse was EVERYONE was telling me there opinion; including my attacker. Every person I knew was trying to influence my decision. Sure it was out of their hearts, but they were hurting me more then helping. What she needs is time away, from everyone. She needs to decide where she wants to go and if she decides she wants to stay with Chris that's her right, but she needs to make that decision on her own. And if she does, she needs to set rules for herself and him and stick by them HARD. Its really rough, but everyone needs to stop slamming her for going back to him. Imagine the person you love the most in this world hurting you. The person you thought never ever would. Seriously. The person you love with all of your heart. Imagine them turning into a monster in front of your eyes. And then decide what you would really do.
Rhianna and other women in this situation, are in my prayers every night. And I will never judge them for their decisions.

I heard that Rihanna is pregnant by Chris Brown and that Puff Diddy is working on getting them back together, I wonder if that's true...

I sure hope not. The biggest mistake she could make is staying with him because of a pregnancy. I am living proof that it will Not work. She should distance herself from him asap.

Dang..The people and the court don't play when it comes to domestic violence do they? We still don't know why he beat her like that, but apparently, it wasn't a good enough reason.
