"That's my brother. When you work with someone that closely, you bond the relationship. Chris is like a baby brother to me. He made a mistake, and I know for a fact that...there's a lot of reason behind it all and all of that, and he's going to grow from it. He's young. He's 19. We've all made mistakes. It's unfortunate that at his age and Rihanna's age, their mistakes are blasted in the public eye, and I petition for everybody to be patient and keep them in your prayers. It's tough out here, and the scrutiny that comes from growing up in the public eye is tough. That's how I feel about it."

11/20/08: OutKast
Despite various setbacks, OutKast member Big Boi still has plans to release his sophomore album 'Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty.' And according to the rapper, the project's delay may very well be worth the wait. Big Boi recently revealed to 'MTV News' that in addition to his album being released in 2009, fans can also expect a solo release from Andre 3000 as well as a new OutKast album. "Me and 'Dre were on the conference call [recently]," he explained. "He's working on his album; my album is done. We're gonna wait until the top of the year - January or February - to put it out. Then 'Dre is gonna come hit y'all, and [then] we're gonna do the OutKast album. So y'all gonna get three records from the 'Kast next year." In the meantime fans can catch Big Boi on November 25 when he appears on an episode of 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.'
11/20/08: 50 Cent
You can now add 50 Cent's name alongside Big Boi and Keri Hilson for artist who have delayed their albums in 2009. Fifty, whose forthcoming album 'Before I Self Destruct' was originally scheduled for a December 6 release before being pushed back to December 16, is now tentatively set for February 3. "I'm trying to leave the same way I came in," he revealed to MTV. "February 4 [2003], 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' came out. I drop this album February 3. The time frame. It used to take six to eight weeks for us to position a hip-hop record. Now, it's taking 12 to 14 weeks." Although the rap mogul expressed his satisfaction with the album's current single 'Get Up,' he did mention that he's "just looking for the opportunity to present more of my material [prior to the album's release]. It's not the strongest effort on my album; it's just a great start for me."
11/20/08: Montell Jordan
Grammy Award-nominated singer Montell Jordan returns to the music scene with his new studio album 'Let It Rain.' The new project reflects a more grown and sexy side of the R&B singer, which is a huge difference from Jordan's earlier days as he describes. "Those people that understand that the time frame that my music was originally created are now a more grown and sexy group of people," he told Eurweb.com. "We went from the college era, and the party style to becoming adults, and so that's where my music is now." And to keep in touch with the adult side of partying, Jordan reached out to the "World's Greatest Entertainer" Doug E. Fresh for the album cut entitled, 'Left Alone.' 'Let It Rain' is in stores now.
11/20/08: Lupe Fiasco
Despite releasing his debut album 'Food & Liquor' in 2006, Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco is looking to unplug his microphone following the release of his triple disc album entitled, 'LupEND.' The rapper recently made the announcement during his Halloween show in Chicago, explaining that the album's title stands for "everywhere," "nowhere" and "down here." "When you play a videogame, you can only put in three letters for your name and when the game's over, those three letters and 'END' pop up," he continued. "My next record might be my last one." Although Lupe is making plans to retire, there is no official word from his label, Atlantic Records, regarding a release date for the project.

Columbus is so very right. You know, I wish this story would just go away. People are so quick to judge and assume. No one knows what happened except for Chris and Rihanna. Everyone needs to stop comparing this boy to O.J. Simpson. I find it amazing how the media put and others put celebrities on a pedestal and the minute something happens they're quick to tear them down. And for chrissakes ! who in the hell wants to hear Pepa, Robin Givens, Tyra Banks, Oprah, and Gayle King's 2 cents ? AGain, stop assuming and judging !

I respectfully disagree with you...I'm glad we're hearing from these women (Oprah etc). I use to be an abuse counselor, and it was frightening to hear the horror stories, and even more frightening to witness the demoralization of these women...

I agree. The media made Oprah look like she didn't care for her own race once upon a time. So Oprah, you are rich. How much will you help the black communities. I know you went to New Orleans to help. But did it had to take a flood to kill all those peoples for you to help them. You see Oprah how people can take things and just make thing sound so bad. The media is like the state attorney office. They live to destroy peoples lives. Get over it. Chris Brown is human.

I agree so heartedly with you. I am so sick and tired of all the criticism that Chris has had to endure. People need to back off and allow the healing to take place. And Oprah needs her ass kicked. She (at times) keeps her mouth shut in other situations, she needs to keep her mouth shut on this. Good heavens, Chris is only 19 yrs. old - of course he shouldn't have hit Rihanna, but no one knows what happened, and she is willing to forgive him, then folks should stay out of it.

I think all the infallible people need to get a life and leave Chris and Rihann alone to settle this. We do not know the entire story. Thankfully, you critics are not God who has compassion, grace and mercy. Clearly, no one should hit, a man should not hit a woman, nor should a woman hit a man. There are some rough women out here, who like to be hit, they start stuff with the intent on fighting, it turns them on. I had a freind like that in college, she would do crazy stuff to get her boyfriend to fight her. So this is just not black and white, there is some gray in between. Neither one of them is perfect, I say pray for both of them to heal and leave them alone and focus on the perfections or ills of your own life.

If Rhianna and Chris could solve this on their own, there wouldn't have been an incident of abuse in the first place. There was no control whatsoever to prevent this. We don't know what happened that lead up to this, but the point is----a violent incident of abuse had taken place by one person to another. Money and fame don't matter. All of us should be concerned when a person is physically, emotionally, sexually and psychologically abused. You can't say we're in their business--it was put out there. They made it our business and I'm glad they did. This needs to be addressed and help should be out there for many women (and men) who are victims of such violent behaviors.

Ok everyone has there own opinion. But, this is their lives. Let them live please. He made a mistake and she deceided to take him back that's her business. Who the hell are we to judge. We don't live their lives for them. Some many artists have made mistakes in the past and we as the outsiders fall right into their lives. What about your own life. Like Rihanna and says live your life.

I'm sick of people acting as if this was not a serious incident. Sources say Rihanna was close to passing out during the choke hold he put her in...what if she had died during this wrestling move he used to restrain her? Just because Chris is young and famous should not excuse him from facing charges. The court does not care how well he sings (which is not that good) or how well he dances, but that he broke the law by allegedly assaulting this woman. Now, if she struck him first it would be one matter to defend yourself by impulsively striking back or holding her down, but to mercilessly BEAT this women is reprehensible.
