Since February, various celebrity notables from Oprah Winfrey to Roseanne Barr have spoken out in response to Chris Brown and Rihanna's alleged altercation. And now you can add singer-actor Tyrese and LisaRaye's name to the long list of celebs lending their support to the troubled couple.
"Although he appears to be really strong through all of this, it's really taking a toll on his spirit," Tyrese recently told People magazine in Los Angeles. "People like me and Puff, we're just trying to show him love and keep his spirits up while he's going through all of the heat, and there are a lot people doing the same for Rihanna."

And according to the rapper, the project's delay may very well be worth the wait. Big Boi recently revealed to 'MTV News' that in addition to his album being released in 2009, fans can also expect a solo release from Andre 3000 as well as a new OutKast album. "Me and 'Dre were on the conference call [recently]," he explained. "He's working on his album; my album is done. We're gonna wait until the top of the year - January or February - to put it out. Then 'Dre is gonna come hit y'all, and [then] we're gonna do the OutKast album. So y'all gonna get three records from the 'Kast next year." Fifty, whose forthcoming album 'Before I Self Destruct' was originally scheduled for a December 6 release before being pushed back to December 16, is now tentatively set for February 3. "I'm trying to leave the same way I came in," he revealed to MTV. "February 4 [2003], 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' came out. I drop this album February 3. The time frame. It used to take six to eight weeks for us to position a hip-hop record. Now, it's taking 12 to 14 weeks." Although the rap mogul expressed his satisfaction with the album's current single 'Get Up,' he did mention that he's "just looking for the opportunity to present more of my material [prior to the album's release]. It's not the strongest effort on my album; it's just a great start for me."
11/20/08: Montell Jordan
Grammy Award-nominated singer Montell Jordan returns to the music scene with his new studio album 'Let It Rain.' The new project reflects a more grown and sexy side of the R&B singer, which is a huge difference from Jordan's earlier days as he describes. "Those people that understand that the time frame that my music was originally created are now a more grown and sexy group of people," he told Eurweb.com. "We went from the college era, and the party style to becoming adults, and so that's where my music is now." And to keep in touch with the adult side of partying, Jordan reached out to the "World's Greatest Entertainer" Doug E. Fresh for the album cut entitled, 'Left Alone.' 'Let It Rain' is in stores now.
11/20/08: Lupe Fiasco
Despite releasing his debut album 'Food & Liquor' in 2006, Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco is looking to unplug his microphone following the release of his triple disc album entitled, 'LupEND.' The rapper recently made the announcement during his Halloween show in Chicago, explaining that the album's title stands for "everywhere," "nowhere" and "down here." "When you play a videogame, you can only put in three letters for your name and when the game's over, those three letters and 'END' pop up," he continued. "My next record might be my last one." Although Lupe is making plans to retire, there is no official word from his label, Atlantic Records, regarding a release date for the project.
The Grammy-nominated singer went on to reveal that Brown's legal woes are beginning to hinder his focus on making new music in the studio. "It's really hard for him to focus right now on his music, even though he really wants to," Tyrese said. "At the end of the day, I'm not trying to justify it because wrong is wrong, but, unfortunately, as entertainers, we have to grow up on stage with a lot of people looking at us. And a lot of people forget that he's 19, she's only 21."
Actress LisaRaye also shared her two cents to HipHollywood.com while on set of Ginuwine's forthcoming video 'Last Chance.'

I want to commend Mickey Webb for what i'll call a solid observation - that neither Oprah or Roseann Barr should claim authority in abuse issues. I'll add they're well nuanced in business affairs 7 thus will exploit any situation to suit their brands.
I further add that Robin Givens lacks any credibility for her get together with Tyson left an ugly taste in the mouths of many.
On trivialization - it was unfortunate that Rosario Dawson equated female circumsition & the Hudson murders with the Rihanna/Brown fight. In a media ratings driven world these 2 kids assume more prominence on Mr cool himself, don Cornelius - by the way Lisa Raye's refreshingly honest - there's a God!!

REAL TALK
Its one thing for a man to beat a woman for no reason, but if you defending yourself, COME ON YALL LETS BE REAL. If you bold enough to throw a punch, "DONT FORGET TO DUK". These women who think a "MAN SHOULD NEVER HIT A WOMAN", kills me. Lets Vice Versa it. If you was a man and a woman start attacking you, You know got DAM well your first reaction will be to restrain her. And if that dont work, YOU WILL DO WHAT YOU GOT TO DO. So if you cant take a hit, DONT THROW ONE.

No man should put his hands on a woman (my daddy taught me that) But no woman should put his hands on a man either (that came from my mom) I'm sure I'm not the only one to hear that! It's not about taking sides, it's about keeping your hands to yourself!

This type of mentality is what gets BLACK Males locked up. First, NO ONE (male or female) HAS the RIGHT to hit another person. Legally, that's assault. Mom should have left and taken you with her. The experienced abuse has warped your mind into believing a WOMAN cannot be violent AND...there should be NO consequences if she does. THIS IS WHAT RADICAL FEMINSTS Want the world to believe. Women do the crime, MAN do the time. Same as child support and divorce. Lazy women get paid cause they had a man's baby, then the deadbeat girlfriend/wife wants MONEY and runs to court for 18 yrs of checks...Want equality ! GET A JOB...stop hangin' on. Be SELF SUFFICIENT. That's all I hear Black women saying: "I don't need a man" BUT you NEED and want and TAKE his money. GOLDDIGGERS and relationship whores. Sex and pu-nanny don't equal love or money. And gettin' slapped around ain't worth it either.
