Natalie Cole is back in business.
The nine-time Grammy Award winning diva appeared on 'American Idol' on Wednesday and is launching a tour tonight.
Last fall, Cole was hospitalized in New York City in the midst of a promotional tour for her latest album, 'Still Unforgettable,' after suffering a setback in her treatment for Hepatitis C.
At the time side effects of chemotherapy treatment for the liver disease, coupled with a hectic schedule were reportedly what lead to Cole's hospitalization.
All remaining activities were immediately scrapped.

The College Survival Guide
A Fridge
Regardless of whether you have a wonderful sized meal plan, your fridge may come in handy with leftovers or when you feel like stocking it with bottled drinks.
Computer
The convenience of a computer is essential when sending your kids off to college. Forget the hike to the computer lab across campus students need a computer in the comfort of their room. A printer comes in handy as well. Depending on whether your child plans to carry his laptop around campus, you might opt for a desk top since they're lighter on the pockets.
Snacks
You will surely survive with off of a meal plan but it doesn't hurt to stock up on snacks when you don't feel like leaving your dorm room. Bottled water, pop corn, cereal and Ramen noodles are all low budget snacks to stock up on. Just be weary of the freshman 15.
Things from home
Some college students suffer from homesickness the first year. It's best to surround yourself with things like photos of the family, pillows or even stuffed animals. Anything that reminds your child of home.
MP3 Player
With all the stress that comes from school and exams, sometimes it's nice to block out the chaos in your life and even your roommate with music. It's nearly impossible to find students walking to class who aren't jamming to tunes.
Budget
Students who enter college often come in at the ripening age of 18. A great time for credit cards. Parents beware, your child may end up ruining their credit at a young age
Alarm Clock
When you're in college you don't have the luxury of getting awaken by your parents. It's now your responsibility to get to class on time so alarm clocks are a must. But keep your roommate in mind. You shouldn't wake him up ever morning with a blow horn alarm.
Cleaning supplies
Now you don't necessarily need to bring in the rubber gloves, mop and gas mask but it doesn't hurt to bring along Clorox all purpose wipes for spills or dust. Vacuums and brooms come in handy too depending if you have a carpeted dorm.
Bedding
What most parents aren't aware of is that most college beds are twin sized but extra long and require special sheets. When shopping keep your eye open for sheets that clearly state 'extra long' or else your child may come up short.
Shower shoes
You really don't know what some people do in the shower these days. College showers are known to be creeping with germs so spare yourself the fungus and purchase flip flops for the shower. You'll thank us later!

I can't believe all of those TOUR DATES Ms. Natile has to do? I wish that she would take break, get rest, and look for a donor? I mean she has plenty of $$$$ and I'm sure her fans would understand? In the above article it said, "Ms. Natalie's hectic schedule were reportedly what lead to her hospitalization". Why would she risk her life in going on tours again? I wish someone would talk to her. I pray that she gets a donor soon. I can't imagine how hard it is going for dialysis for 3 times a week and working around her hectic schedules? That is INSANE! I know she doesn't want to be on dialysis for the rest of her life? In my opinion, she is going to wear her self down if she continues to do tours.

I agree with you 100%, but, i'm looking at it this way, may-be she feels since that is what she does(singing)it could be her final request in life. Do it until it ends.

While I understand your frustrations, instead of having the 'she is no better than I am' complex, pray for her as well as yourself.
Don't sell yourself short or block you blessings! Pray for yourself, as well as others in your situation.
I am praying for you, my mother passed over 17 yrs ago from renal failure as a result of bad health decisions, and a stroke. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
So, know that you will get better, but also pray for others.

As a kidney transplant recipient of 12 years, dtabby I too understand your frustration. However, I agree with Sheryl when she says don't sell yourself short or block your blessings. I know you are frightened for yourself and your two small children. My mother passed away when I was 8 from epilepsy and they don't know why my kidneys failed although current studies are leading to the fact that I may be one of those people who may have developed it due to toxsemia (?) during my pregnancy many years ago. Forgive my spelling of the word, I did my best. So I can only imagine what you are going through. Please keep your faith strong. It helps so much. The day I was called in to be tested for a cadaver, I was third on the list. It never occurred to me that it would be my turn but you never know what's in store for you. I still don't know why God saw fit to choose me for such a blessing but I thank him everyday and try my best to not throw away this second chance he has given me. I hope Ms. Cole will use her celebrity status in a positive way and be a light to others. It is important to get the word out how much organs and tissue are needed by a vast number of people. African Americans are seriously under-represented in organ donation. A lot of people don't understand organ-tissue donation and that you can donate while you're alive. Ms. Cole is in a position to get the word out and education a lot more people than a number of us. Let's hope she does just that during her tour dates and beyond. I too wish she wouldn't work so hard because kidney disease is no joke. It definitely takes a toll on your body even after transplant. I agree that she should be on the list with everyone else especially knowing that list has its priorities as well with the most serious cases to be taken care of first. I am not naive enough to think that she will have to wait like everyone else who needs it more. But maybe, just maybe, her heart will be in the right place and she will champion the cause and accept her transplant as a gift not a right. And in doing so, let the world know how much organ and tissue donation affects everyone partly African Americans. But dear dtabby please continue to be your own best advocate. Be an example for your children. Keep the faith and let your heart not your head be your guide. I for one will keep you in my prayers for a healthy, well received match to be in your near future and a swift recovery. Take good care of yourself.

TO DTABBY37:.........I AGREE WITH SOME OF THE OTHERS.....PRAY FOR HER AS WELL AS FOR YOURSELF...DON'T BLOCK YOUR BLESSING BY BEING UPSET WITH HOW SHE'S DOING WHAT SHE GOTTA DO.....
JUST BECAUSE NATALIE IS FAMOUS MEANS NOTHING....
PLUS IF YOU NOTICE.......NATALIE ISSSSSSS WAITING..........SHE MAY OR MAY NOT BE ON A LIST....BUT SHE'S WAITING.......SHE HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO WAIT......DO YOU SEE ANYONE JUMPING UP AND RUNNING TO HER RESCUE?????.......NO!!!!....AT LEAST NOT RIGHT NOW.
IF SHE WAS GETTING SPECIAL TREATMENT BECAUSE OF
HER STATUS.....SHE WOULD HAVE ALREADY HAD THE
KIDNEY....AND WOULD BE ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY...
NOW AS FOR ALL THOSE TOUR DATES....I THINK IT'S TOO MUCH....I THINK SHE SHOULD CUT BACK SOME OF THOSE DATES.....BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON IN HER MIND...MAYBE THERE'S A REASON FOR IT.
BUT HER HUSBAND OR A FAMILY SHOULD TRY TO GET HER TO CUT BACK....
SHE STILL DOES NOT LOOK WELL ENOUGH TO ME....BUT HEY, THAT'S MY HUMBLE OPINION....I GUESS HER DOCTORS SAY SHE'S WELL ENOUGH TO TOUR.....I PRAY FOR HER AND WISH HER WELL.
