Teenage superstar KeKe Palmer has a reason to smile.Nickelodeon has ordered a second season of her hit live-action comedy series, 'True Jackson, VP.'
According to a rep, the network has picked up 20 episodes of the show, in which Palmer portrays a 15-year-old tapped to head the youth division of a major fashion label.
The premiere of 'True Jackson' garnered the kid-targeted network its largest audience ever among 6- to 11-year-olds and total viewers for a series debut. It currently ranks as the number two show for kids and tweens on Saturday nights.
Tweens are the official term used for youngsters between the ages of 10 and 12 years old -- a group considered too old to be children and too young to be teenagers. Palmer, 15, won acclaim for her break-out role in 2004's Emmy-nominated 'The Wool Cap.' She also starred in 'Barbershop 2: Back In Business' and appeared on TV shows such as 'ER' and 'Law & Order.'
In 2006, the Chicago-area native played a wayward youth in the box-office hit 'Madea's Family Reunion' and later starred opposite Academy Award-nominated actors Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne in 'Akeela and the Bee.' She won an NAACP Image Award for her role as a precocious 11-year-old from South Central Los Angeles with a gift for words who becomes a national spelling bee contestant.
Last year, she released her debut album via Atlantic Records.
'True Jackson, VP' airs at 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

I'm so proud to see a young AfricanAmerican young lady make a positive name for herself. She is indeed not a statistic and has given a vision to all young ladies that you dont have to be a video whore to make it!!! It's so amusing how I am the 1st to comment, I guarantee if this was something negative there would have been comments galore!!!!!

You are soooooooo right. Since "they" can't manipulate the President into this, "they" can't say or see the goodness.
Keep it together KeKe and ride the star all the way to the top.

I agree with you Ms. P! This young lady is a positive role model for our young sistas and she should be celebrated just as Dakota Fanning (the little white girl who starred in The Secret Life of the Bees). She is an excellent actress and I love her attitude. Kudos to you babygirl!!

I appreciate her being a lovely and positive young lady whom our girls can look up to, I can remember growing up in the 70's and 80's the only African American girls who I could look up to were Janet Jackson on Good Times and Kim Fields on the Facts of Life I wanted my hair just like "Tootie's" I've watched KeKe in all her movies and shows. I still like to watch Akeelah and the Bee whenever it comes on tv. I also catch episodes of True Jackson with my daughter and we both enjoy it. It makes me tell her that she can do anything, just look and the yound lady starring in her own show. I would like to see more African Americans on the show but I know that it takes time and I'm just glad they picked the show up for another season.

I have a habit of watching tv with my 11 year old daughter so I have heard of this show unlike many who to the survey. I am glad to say this young lady's show is not only funny it is positive and shows that a young African-American can not only be popular with those of her own race but also with others

Great Job Ke Ke, take your time. Don't grow up too quick. You are beautiful. Enjoy your youth and fame. Don't let them make out of you what they did with the Smiley Cileus character. God be with you.

Yes, Ke-ke please keep up the Great job!! This is one of the few shows I allow my son to watch on tv.
His time is very limited, His father and I stood proudly on 5/15/09 and watch him be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society for 2009-2010. He is a rising 8th grader- So Parents turn off the tv or limit the time, and what they watch. She is a very good role model for the kind of woman I want to help save their country. This is their FUTURE!! "YES THEY CAN" & "YES THEY WILL". May God keep his divine spirit upon you and all of our children. Bless you,
