Sherri Shepherd is handling her business.
The vivacious co-host of the long-running ABC chat-fest 'The View' is adding another job to her resume: sitcom leading lady. This week, the Lifetime television network announced the pick up of the comedy pilot 'Sherri,' for a 12 episode run.
Loosely based on Shepherd's real-life experiences, the show centers on a woman who deals with her husband's infidelity by allowing her husband's girlfriend and their child to move in with them.

CONGRATS SHERI! I know you have been wanting your own show for a long time. You even said on the "View", that there should be more black sitcoms on TV and here you are. IT'S ABOUT TIME! I will be watching you because girlfriend, you are funny and beautiful.

It is a shame when a Black Woman can not tell when someone is making a fool out of Her. First show me a Black Woman who would even allow this to happen, let alone want it on television for the whole world to see how desperate she is to keep some piece of a man.

you're kidding me right? WOMEN,- not just black women - let things like that happen all the time. not always to the extreme of moving them in but women put up alot of crap in the name of love. esp if a child's involved.
Someone out there will relate to this TV show more than they would care to admit, trust me.

Your right about the premis of this show in disgraceful.
I feel it is just another step to end America.
First we allow gay marriage.
Then we allow three people to be married, next it will be the group that believe children should be taught to be sexual. (if you don't believe there is such a group, google it)
Just where do we draw the line?

Hey DimePiece you are the one missing the point. The subject matter of the show is the issue. I applaud any Black Woman who is doing their thing, especially when there aren't many who even have t.v. shows. But it was stated that they show is based on her life, and any woman who would TAKE IN THEIR HUSBAND MISTRESS IS RIDICULOUS!

her decision to take in a mistress may not b something you would do, but that doesn't mean that it was ridiculous for her to do. each person has within themselves what they can tolerate for the sake of their family, kids, or whatever. what you cant do or shouldnt do, some one find it necessary for purposes that you may not even know about. please, this isn't the first time someones life has been on screen, oprah has told most of her life story on her show and in print, did she make a fool out of herself? chris rock show is based on his life, his family lived in the hood, is he making a fool out of himself. besides that, most of these shows arent exactly what happened in that person life any way. half of it is made up tomake the show better. so i say to sherri, live your dream, dont let anybody rain on your parade. if she is not embarrassed about what happened in her life and willing to tell it, than thats her business. tell it before some news reporter does and tries to embarrass you or black mail you, then you can tell it yourself and smile all the way to the bank.

and besides that, her life is not just about a man.she has a child, she has a career, health issues, family that she loves, her mother died when she was young, their are many things in her life that can come out of this show other than what hapened in her marriage. like most woman b they black or white, its more to them than a man. and what differnce doe it make what color she is any way? this reminds me of dr. king when he was told by his own people to stop because he was embarrassing the whole race in what he was trying to do. and its he life to tell, if many of you dont like the show or the idea that she is gonna do the show, than dont get a tv with only one station on it that only air her show.
