Catching Up With ... Vanessa Simmons

Dressed in a chic American Apparel jumpsuit, Christian Dior pumps and an endless array of gold jewels, Vanessa Simmons' face glistens like the charms wrapped around her neck. Although the mini mogul celebrated her 26th birthday at the plush Su Casa in New York City, it's evident that she has more to celebrate than getting another year older.

The second season of 'Daddy's Girls' will reveal the same glowing Vanessa as viewers get a first glimpse inside her and sister Angela's delicious empire known as Pastry, only to witness the evolution of their brain child as it expands to Macy's.

Viewers will also get the opportunity to watch the Simmons' sisters as they move into their new plush Hollywood home. But what viewers may find most intoxicating is "reserved" Vanessa's budding romance now made public.

In a candid interview, Vanessa revealed to BV Newswire details about her romance, the challenges of being a young entrepreneur, friendships lost and the inner strength she's found as a woman.

What can we expect for the second season of 'Daddy's Girls'?

Beyond Pastry, although it has grown bigger than anything Angela and I ever expected, I finally introduce my boyfriend that I have been hiding. Well, not hiding, but I am a very private person when it comes to relationships. Everyone's like, "You can't keep not saying anything." So, now it's out there, and my boyfriend will appear in a couple of the episodes. I am nervous. I can say that. But I love my relationship, and I love my boyfriend. And now it's out there for everyone to see. You'll love him just as much as I love him. He's hilarious. My boyfriend comes from a very funny family.

What is your boyfriend's name?

His name is Michael Wayans. That's all I'm going to say. That's my baby, that's my heart. I love him very, very much.

What else can we expect as far as the evolution of Pastry?

Pastry is expanding so much. We have watches, glasses and we have the Capsule Collection, an edgy collection made out of fine fabrics and beautiful designs that Angela and I have put all of our heart and soul into. We are very excited for that to come out.

Has it been difficult for you and Angela to stay true to your own vision as young entrepreneurs?

We've been putting Pastry into our own hands. It is very hard being a young entrepreneur, when people are constantly telling you what to do. And now, we are telling everyone, "No, this is what we want to do." So in that sense, this year has been a struggle, but we are very excited for people to see what we have in store. As you know, Pastry is all about the sneakers, but this fall, we will be launching a line of shoes. We really are trying to get our line out there and globalize our brand.

Entrepreneurship definitely runs in the Simmons' blood. What have you learned from Auntie Kimora?

She has given us tons of advice, all of our lives, and has inspired us just by leading by example. Kimora is a person that we will always love and always respect. She has shown us so much, and we have gained a lot of inspiration from her throughout the years. Actually, right now, Kimora is at home busy with baby Kenzo, Ming and Aoki.

In addition to the expansion of Pastry and your budding romance, what else can the viewers expect to get a glimpse of during season two of 'Daddy's Girls'?

Just watch. I mean, we've had some old friends come in and make new drama, unfortunately. I guess cameras change people. I have lost some friends in L.A. It's unfortunate, but I know who I am as a person. I am a strong woman, and I wish every one the best in everything that they do.

'Daddy's Girls' airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
