Following two months of planning, Michael Jackson will finally be laid to rest on Thursday evening in California's legendary Forest Lawn Glendale where he is expected to be interred in a hidden monument in a mausoleum made of marble and mortar.
The private memorial for family and friends will reportedly find the "King of Pop" entombed beside his childhood idols, Walt Disney and Larry of the 'Three Stooges.'
"The family believed this is what Michael would have wanted," a source close to the family told the New York Post.
While the iconic singer expected to be honored in the highest regard, including a performance by soul legend Gladys Knight, and 12 burial spaces being purchased, Jackson's mother, Katherine, requested the judge to sign off on the funeral expenses.
This morning Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff granted the current administrators of Jackson's estate to pay for Jackson's funeral and interment. The Associated Press reported that no one contested who would pay the costs, however Beckloff expressed concerns about whether Jackson's estate could afford it.
The current attorney for the administrators of Jackson's estate, Jeryll Cohen, stated that the estate had enough funds to cover funeral services in full. "The expenses are extraordinary, however, Michael Jackson was extraordinary," she said.
As for the increased security of the 13th Century Italian patterned cemetery, observers can expect the streets surrounding Forest Lawn to be closed to the public 24 hours prior to service, in addition to restricted airspace over the venue.
The multiple Grammy Award-winner's three children Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket are all expected to place written letters alongside his signature white glove that read, "Daddy, we love you, we miss you," said Jackson's brother, Marlon.
He went on to tell UK newspaper, 'The Mirror,' that the King of Pop will be given a special wig of long black locks to wear in his gold coffin and a makeup artist has been hired to render his facial features.

I agree with some of the comments here. but Micheal was a good artist etc, but he wasn't a king, or anything like Di. or anything like a very important person. He was a singer, an artist. that is all, with family problems, and his whole life.I think the family went over bored with his funnel etc. and the family knew he took all these llegal drugs, but while he was a live it's okay , but when he died someone killed him, to me hog wash. sometimes his own sisters where against him, so you all tell me. who's footen the bill for being on tv, a GOLD box to be bured in, and who picked up this tab? tax payers. you fans sometimes don't care where your money goes. way to much
may he rest in peace, and GOD REST HIS SOUL AMEN

Dear Marika Dayley
You do not know what you are talking about, you also lack proper grammar. If you are bold enough to state KING MICHAEL is no king, you STAND to be CORRECTED. King Michael was the boy who would be KING, from the inception of the ICONIC Jackson 5, what galaxy are you from? King Michael won 13 Grammy awards, and is a DOUBLE Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Thriller is THE BEST SELLING ALBUM OF ALL TIME, KING Michael is at the TOP even in the wake of his tragic death. He has won accolades galore, decorated by presidents, the most recognizable entertainer ever, more people watched his half-time show in 1993 than the damn Superbowl, HBO awarded him a Cable Ace award when viewing HIM caused their ratings to soar to an ALL-TIME HIGH, he has given away more money than ANY entertainer, and continues to be the gift that KEEPS GIVING after death! He holds many Guiness world records, and the list goes on and on. HE IS THE PEOPLE'S PROCLAIMED KING OF POPULAR MUSIC AND CULTURE. He is an ICON, a TRENDSETTER, and sets the PACE to be followed. King Michael is a YARDSTICK by which EVERY ENTERTAINER must use to gage themselves. And for YOUR INFORMATION, HIS ESTATE paid for the funeral expenses, not me or you! REST IN PEACE HONORABLE ICONIC KING MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON I LOVE AND MISS YOU SO MUCH GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY, LORD PUT A PROTECTIVE HEDGE AROUND THE LOVELY JACKSON FAMILY.I MISS KING MICHAEL SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! I'll always love you King Michael. I LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know what gets me?? Is that all these so called fans acts as if they knew this guy, like their own family. they will miss him!!! Really!!!!!!! he was probally just like the rest of your singers, their on your cd's, tape, concerts, and tv. you only know this guy by what you hear , and read. so you put these , your oppions to sound so nice in case the jackson's family can read. he was a singer, what went on behind closed doors NO ONE REALLY KNOWS, but micheal, and the kids, and GOD, not you, me, news, and most of all his fimally doesn't even know. He should of been buried a long time ago. the only ones that will will miss him is his children most of all, sisters, and brothers a little, they weren't all that close to each other. and his mom will miss him, micheal loved his mom. but just like elvis, they all will collect money on a dead man, so you all that are fans just keep supporting their lives, but i think you ought to think about your lives, and families when they die, will the jacksons help you out hahaha i think not
but he was a good singer and artist, that is all, nothing less and nothing more this was his live and he lived it how he wanted to , not how everyone else wanted him to, and no the dr, did not kill him, micheal himself did, cause he had to have more, and more. see llegal drugs also kill. give blame to micheal jackson on his death also. no one is to blame but him his self. what micheal wanted , micheal got. so fans get over it
