Whether her divorce decree from Usher was signed off by the judge or not, Tameka Foster's near-two-year marriage to the international music superstar is over.
That's a fact.
Yet, the fortysomething single mother of five (allegedly by three different men) says she has not been given a fair shot in the way she has been "judged."
The Oakland native (pictured above with Keshia Knight Pulliam and Tasha Smith) spoke to Isoul Harris for Upscale magazine's September/October edition.
In the Atlanta-based Bronner Bros.-owned magazine, Foster says she didn't fit the image of the kind of woman people thought Usher should marry.
Oh, is that why it didn't work?
"I understand where all the negativity comes from," she said. "Unfortunately I think that some black women are, subconsciously, not in love with the image they see in the mirror. Therefore, in turn, they do not love someone like me. I look too much like them."
Hmmmm.
The only woman that I think Tameka Foster

What about you?
Like Foster, Bynum appeared on the cover of Essence magazine.
A renowned best-selling author and televangelist, the 50-year-old Chicago native is also a regular motivational speaker during the Essence Music Festival's Empowerment Seminars in New Orleans, which is populated mostly by black women.
"People passed judgment without getting to know me," Foster opined to Harris, then asked, "How can you get the entire concept of who I am from a blog?"
The September/October edition of Upscale -- with actress Taraj P. Henson on the cover -- is on newsstands now.

I totally agree that if Ms. Foster looked like Kobe Bryant's wife, she would not have gotten so much criticism. She still would have been called a gold digger regardless. People even called Chili a gold digger and said that she latched on to Usher because her career was over. Fans can be overly opinionated and cruel. For those who wish that Chili and Usher were back together, WHY? There was a reason why they broke up! Just because they "looked" good together means nothing.
I remember how fans of DMX used to say horrible things about his wife. Now, how many women would trade places with her? The only women that would, would do so because of whatever money they think he still has.
I think Ms. Foster should no longer try to convince people that she got the short end of the stick, because her efforts are causing more harm than good. The hell with what people think. Move on and the last thing that should be on her mind is public opinion. She has 5 children and recently almost lost her life. Surely, millions of strangers should not be on her list of priorities. I truly wish Tameka Foster well.

Apparently this is just another private issue gone public. Now, in today's society, marriage for what ever the reason was... intentional with good cause or bad. I do believe that a person with Usher's status may have very well asked a woman of that age for marriage not thinking about her age, but by being of a mature age, socially, would be a good enough mother to have and raise his children. Someone who could be a good public influence within their community. I certainly would have to enter such relationship as a woman that understood I do not need to be in his public limelight, but at home as a wife and mother being with a man of a status and image...that's where I would shine. To wreck havoc a person's career just because you already knew that the sexy man has fans and you do not like it, why said yes to marriage from him if that would soon become envy and jealousy???? I would have been whatever he needed me to be and not anything other. People waste time spending thousands of charity dollars on a marriage they know that they can afford to get out of. The pain isn't over,,,especially for the children involved.
Now there will be battles and spats over his stuff,,,her stuff,,,the kids need stuff,,,the dog need a new house, whatever...no matter if one start a new relationship with someone else...that person of divorce's name will forever ring into the other person's ears, memories are slow to go away when children are involved.
So buckle up the roller coaster ride is certainly not over.

I think that she didn't get a fair shot with her marriage and that is isn't just her, it was Usher as well. Usher is a grown man and it was him that made the decision to marry the woman and have children by her. He allowed her to make decisions for him, if that was the case with his mother and his relationship. It's not her fault for that at all. HE IS A GROWN MAN THAT FROM THE MEDIA HAS MOVED ON WITH ANOTHER WOMAN THAT IS OLDER. So what this lady has five children? MEDIA!! MEDIA!! What they fail to realize is that they are human just like we are and we all make mistakes. If she did leave her children with the other father, maybe she thought that was best at that moment, but who are we to judge? Nobody is better than the other. Casting stones that is!!!!! One person sin is no better than the next. I am tired of hearing how the media want to make it like the celebrities aren't human and that they don't and can't make mistakes. Usher is still young and full of cumm!! He has allowed everything to happen up until now. She did what she wanted to do and she's fine with it. She has gone through one marriage, do you all think that she is going to be distraught because Usher has left the BUILDING!!! NO, this woman does her own THANG!! Why you think Usher went after her. She taught him!!!
