Whitney Houston's much-publicized interview with Oprah Winfrey couldn't have had more peculiar timing. Her ex-husband, Bobby Brown, who seemed to be the main topic of the "candid" tête-à-tête with the billionaire media maven – is talking, too.
In promotion of his forthcoming 'Behind the Music' special, the 'My Prerogative' crooner recently opened up to 'The Insider' about his rocky relationship with Houston.
"I think we corrupted each other," Brown disclosed. "I don't think she hurt me or I hurt her in any way. I just think we had a 14-year marriage that had its ups and downs, and not many people understood it."
Houston confirmed Brown's statement by revealing that the two were inseparable during their marriage.

"I have not seen or spoken to my daughter since early June and I have no prospect of speaking to her anytime soon due to Whitney's actions," Brown declared in Orange County Superior Court documents filed Friday Aug. 24, 2007. Brown has been trying to overturn a judge's default judgment to nullify the couple's marriage and grant Houston sole custody of 14-year-old Bobbi Kristina. "He was my drug," Houston confessed yesterday on the season premiere of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.' "I didn't do anything without him. I wasn't getting high by myself. It was me and him together, and we were partners, and that's what my high was
-- him. He and I being together, and whatever we did, we did it together. No matter what, we did it together."Brown divulged what he says was the real reason for why he began abusing cocaine. "It's a powerful drug," he said, adding that he also turned to drugs because of the lack of enthusiasm in his marriage.
"I just think I was bored. I had just gotten married, and things [weren't] right, and I turned to alcohol and drugs."
Is that so, Bobby?
It appears marriage and boredom weren't the only thing that may have gotten the former New Edition member down in a slump. According to his 'Being Bobby Brown' autobiography, (which was later labeled "unauthorized" due to conflicts of interests between him and author Derrick Handspike), the Grammy Award-winning Boston native recalled drinking heavily when he separated from a famous former girlfriend .
"Before I met Janet [Jackson], I would never drink hard liquor. I only drank beer," he revealed. "But after our breakup, I started drinking hard liquor abundantly. I took the way our relationship ended very hard. Not to say we were head over heels in love, but she was someone I had a lot of feelings for."
"Besides, we were young and naive," he added. "I was only about 19 or 20 years old. Young love is no joke!"As for his thoughts on seeing his ex-wife on Winfrey's show, Brown doesn't seem too fazed by her appearance. "If there's something that she says that is untrue or disrespectful then...I'll deal with that with her."
Uh oh.
'Behind the Music: Bobby Brown' premieres on Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on VH1.

Still will not invest a dime towards her future drug habit. Me & Bobby Brown set black people back,back,back... just fed into the stero type give them a little money and they will find away to mess it up. Like she said so much money, well not my money anymore.

I'm glad to hear Bobby respond in a calm manner. I watched the interview. Whitney and Oprah were playing the blame game. Whitney, in no way, accepted responsibilty for her actions. She totally blamed Bobby for everything. I love her but she is fake as hell. And Oprah is a punk for not drilling her like she would have drilled a man... A total punk!!

I wish the best for Whitney but I still feel she was not totally honest about her drug use. The FIRST step to sobriety is being honest about your addiction and she denies the crack issue. You can NOT smoke cocaine (a powder)in a pipe unless you cook it ie... crack. That is why she harped so much about using the cocaine in the marijuana because that you can do. The whole crack is whack ordeal has her scared to being totally honest. She would not only be a drug addict but a big liar too. It's too much for her to bear..... JUST MY OPINION.
