Oprah Winfrey's intimate interview with Mike Tyson on Oct. 12 has now resulted in plans to reunite him with boxing rival Evander Holyfield.
BV Newswire has learned that following an outpouring of audience response from the infamous pugilist's appearance, he will return to 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' on Oct. 16 to take questions from the studio audience.
Harpo Productions has confirmed that Tyson will reunite with Holyfield during the show. Their appearance together will mark the first time the two have spoken face-to-face since their infamous 1997 match. Earlier this week, the Brooklyn, New York, raised boxer talked candidly about his past and very public ordeals, including his disastrous marriage to former TV star Robin Givens, his trial and three-year imprisonment for rape and his ear-biting bout with Holyfield.
"I didn't feel guilty at the time," revealed Tyson. "I didn't feel guilty at all."

I thought the first Tyson interview with Oprah was appropriate and the audience got a chance to hear his side of the story. Even though, in the interview with Oprah, Tyson did say that he apologized to Hollyfield, but wasn't sincere the first time when the incident happened. Tyson said to the audience and Oprah that he wanted to get the media off his back at the time. I believe he did say that he did years later and sort of reached out to Hollyfield to personally apologize for what happened, but it was an awkward moment for Hollyfield at the time and he didn't know how to react?
I really, don't think it's a good way forcing the two to publicly apologize to each other on national TV. I feel, let the two mature changed men should find time on their own and apologize in person. If this was a mutual agreement, than I guess I will have to wait, watch the show, and then react after on how the apology went? I'm sure, if Tyson apologizes on TV to Hollyfield, it would be sincere not because he is on the spot on the Oprah Whinfrey Show.
If appearing on Oprah Show is therapeutic for both Mike and Holyfield in helping them to sincerely apologize the right way now, helping them both to squash the past, and to finally find closure, than I guess the show will serve it's purpose. I will be watching!

It was stated that the two had not had contact with each other since the fight, but they showed a picture of the two shaking hands and it looks like a more recent photo. I believe the picture was taken at the ESPY Awards.

I really am getting tired of people thinking that because Oprah has a couple of billion dollars that thye we are entitled to handouts. Maybe if we would do something for ourselves, she would be more enclined to help those of us who need. The Lord won't even help those who do not help themselves. We have been in America before any other group Jamaicans, Trinidadians, Cubans, Haitians, Nigerians these other prople see the opportunity here and grab it education, and training. The only people who us who get education and training are women and us from the southern states and now that is changing. So if all we want to do is aspire to become celebrities, (in athletics or entertainments rap)then let us be happy and enjoy the show.

At this point, the only good that can come out of this is a boost for Oprah's ratings. I luv Oprah, but I think she should leave this alone.
