'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Kandi Burruss is not derailing plans to release new music despite the traumatic loss of her ex-fiancé Ashley 'A.J.' Jewell.
Currently, Burruss is featured on a popular Atlanta radio hit 'Try It Out' by Big Bank Black. The Grammy Award-winning songwriter also revamped cast-mate Kim Zolciak's 'Tardy For the Party,' which made it to the Top 10 of iTunes Dance music chart.
And though she was obviously shocked by the recent murder of Jewell, she's putting out the new tunes she's been crafting this year on an EP. Since all of the songs on the collection were made before he died, there are no songs dedicated in his memory.
The former Xscape front-woman had a deal with Capitol Records on the table, but things didn't pan out and now she's still shopping her full-length album, titled 'B.L.O.G.,' to major record labels. According to Burruss' spokeswoman Tresa Sanders, the reality television star plans to release songs digitally as "part of the set up to head up the streets before the full release [of the album]."
The Drumma Boy-produced song 'Fly Above,' which was heard on the latest season of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta,' is the lead single from 'Kandi Koated Entertainment Presents The Fly Above EP.' A digital release is set for Oct. 29.
Other tracks include 'Trade Him In' featuring Gucci Mane, 'I Like Him' featuring Rick Ross and Rashida and a love song titled 'I Just Know. 'Housewives' cameras also caught the 'Just Kickin' It' singer creating the Jazze Pha-produced 'Must Be Good,' which also made the cut.
In addition to working on a full-scaled promotional tour to perform some of her new songs, Burruss plans to open a new boutique in her hometown of Atlanta called TAGS.

I pray that the whole cast of RHOA receive and know the truth about themselves and walk in liberty. We, as the public, only get to see a glimpse of how their lives really are. We view only what the production company wants us to see as their facts not what's truly going on. The cast really knows the dish.

Kandi is very talented and she's a very likeable person. Bravo to her for standing up against NeNe who is one of the "messiest" people I've ever seen in my life. NeNe is mean spirited and she seems like the type of person that just brings bad energy where-ever she goes. Kandi is the opposite. She seems genuine. She cares about other people and her family. I wish Kandi only the best. She will continue to Fly Above. Just because NeNe is being talked about doesn't mean she's the most talented. Remember, everybody loves a train wreck.

Truth be told Khandi is the only one on the show who is real. NeNe is very envious of Khandi for some unknown reason. You have to respect a woman that's been taking care of her business since 19. It's embarassing for me to watch them go back and forth every week over petty nonsense. I have no respect for NeNe. She's trying to be something she's not. Sheree is the same way. Lisa and Ed over do it for the show. Real couples don't kiss and cuddle that much. I have always wondered where does Kim get all that money from. I bet anything she's an ex porn star. I believe they all need to get their lives together and stop worrying about being the elite of Atlanta.

I initially thought RHOA was entertaining, but now I rarely watch it. All the women have some "fakeness" about them, and if they are supposed to be "Housewives" we rarely see them taking care of their houses or children. The show spotlights the insignificant "trauma & drama" that all women can get into if they allow themselves to be consumed with petty personality conflicts. I wish Bravo had chosen Atlanta women that are truly doing something good for their community while taking care of themselves and their respective families. These ladies leave a lot to be desired.

Kandi you are great in the show. My sincere prayers are with you and family. On a personal note you are the only one in this show that seems to have a real job, the others seem to be fake. NeNe please shut up and stop talking so much. You need to look for some type of employment, because after that out burst with Kandi I don't think your so call book is going to make it.

I love RHOA (I watch them all, but the others combined still can't match Atlanta). My comment is that all of the women play their own part. Collectively, they make great entertainment, and bring in awesome ratings. Nee Nee is the star of the show, but she won't be for long if she doesn't
"reel in" some of that brand new ego she has. Still, I like her the best.
Kandi is coming into her own. She needs to cut the strings that Kim has placed on her. Kandi get's nothing out of their arrangement except used. Open your eyes girl!
Lisa is almost forgettable, she is already established and can be kinda' messy when she wants to.
Sheree appears to be more humble this season, but she can be messy as well. If only she was all that she thought she was!
Kim, that chic' She needs more help than Bravo can give! She takes superficial to a whole notha' level. Engaged to a married man....really!
Still, it's good entertainment.

I like Kandi as a songwriter. I have to say that I am not that impressed with her singing ability. Im glad to see her "keep it moving" and stay focused.
I know from experience that if you stay our of the industry for to long, they will forget all about you. All of the other cast members are using their platform to get to where they want to go....why not Kandi.
Strike while the iron is hot!
