I am saddened by this. imagine in the U.K. a woman of African ancestry voted into that position of prestige, only to lose it by fighting over a man. When will we learn that our behaviour is looked at with more scrutiny and we should strive for excellence in our mannerisms, speech, attitude, etc. We need to show our OWN culture and our younger generation that there is a better way other than ghetto behaviour. First, I need for you to always utilize spell check. You're as ignorant as your spelling shows you to be. I'm black & have never been arrested before. Matter of fact all of my friends (predominantly black) & my family can say the same. So, there you have it. Black adults that did not & still don't have a rap sheet. So, pick up a dictionary & learn how to spell before you make another racist comment without knowing your facts.

To Marguerite: I assume you are an African american and I must say that I feel sorry for you. You think like a slave like the majority of African american's. As a sister, you keep slavery intack by passing the "Jesus" paton generation after generation. This is one of the reasons black people are in a mess in this country. They refuse to stop thinking white. If there is a God you must admit that he/she has favored whites more than any other race, even after all they did to mess this planet up...including slavery and the near extermination of the indians. Where was he/she then when our people were crying out to him? Simply put...he/she didn't exist. Use your brain, if you were God at that time, what would you have done? He/she deserves to be punched. Things have come a long way since the days of Vanessa Williams.

For those who may recall, Ms Williams was the first African-American to win the title of of Ms America, which she did with style and grace in 1985.

She eventually had to relinquish her crown and title - not because she was a thug or a bar room brawler, but because some nude photographs of her that were taken years before she entered the pageant, were released without her consent or knowledge, by a self serving scumbag trying to cash in with those photos.

Even Hugh Hefner had the decency to refuse publishing the photos, and the vast majority of Americans at the time were very much supportive of Vanessa, but she eventually turned in her crown and title and proceeded on with her career as a singer and actress.

To this very day, Vanessa conducts herself with a level of professionalism and grace that Rachel Christie could not possibly comprehend and is utterly devoid of.

There is more to carrying a title that represents your country in such context than merely looking pretty or being able to fake your way through the judging process.

You have to actually be someone who is willing and able to conduct oneself appropriately as a representative of your country and ethnic heritage in the public forum.

This seemingly obvious concept is completely outside the range of Rachel Christie's abilities. She is, sadly, an embarrassment to her country, and those of African descent . . . and instead has created an image associated with all of the usual negative stereotypes.

Ms Christie, this is not rocket science - get a clue!
