Steve Harvey is a changed man – and that's largely due to the new lady in his life.
But when it comes to his third wife, Marjorie Bridges Harvey, whom he married in June 2007, she's not new at all. The pair met 17 years ago and dated briefly. And although the popular comedian, top-rated radio personality and best-selling author first saw the hazel-eyed beauty during a comedy club appearance in Memphis, where he declared that she would be his wife, both parties went on to build separate families.
But they didn't live happily ever after with their respective former spouses.
Steve and Marjorie open up to best-selling author Denene Milner about their rekindled love and newfound happiness in the December edition of Essence magazine, which officially arrives on newsstands Nov. 12."You're looking at two people who were messing up for real and making bad decisions without conferring with God," he shared. "But the fact that you can mess up that many times and still come out okay is a testament to just the grace and mercy of God, man. He took us all the way around the block, halfway around the world, and we got back to each other." The missus, who has three children from her previous marriage, told a candid story about how one of 'The Original Kings of Comedy' almost let her slip through his fingers after reconnecting; one night, he accepted a phone call from another woman in front of her.
"I was just at a point where I was like, 'If what you want is the same thing as what I want, then great. But if it's not, it doesn't make you wrong and me right or vice versa. It just means we're not in the same place,'" she recalled. "What I'm not going to do is sit here and be in something where I'm not happy and not getting what I want. I wasn't afraid to walk away."
Harvey snapped into shape in short order. He made a commitment and rose to the occasion. Two years later, the two are still going strong.
"I mean, there's not two days that go by when one of us doesn't look at the other and say, 'Man, you're the best thing that ever happened to me in my entire life,'" he said.

No matter where the truth lies. You can never go wrong with the simple act of subtraction. Steve states in this article and several others that he met Marjorie 17 years ago. Well that would mean that they met in 1990 or 1992. He met Mary in 1989 at the cosmetic counter at the mall. They got married in 1995. Soooo, no matter if you believe that he is bitter or if you believe that he is arrogant. Either way, the math tells a different story. So I would go with that. Because there definitely is an overlap as far as the dates are concerned.

It's sad to see how so many men abandon and reject their wives after they've had their backs. And all of a sudden when your kids are grown and you reach the top you want to find God with another woman. God was there many years ago. And to address your life with your 2nd wife as a mistake is sad. I particularly don't care what he does because this story has been played over and over in the press. Why not just say I want a younger more beautiful woman. If their story is a love story our the next generation is in more trouble than we thought. Get honest!

On top of all this, he writes this book on acting like a man but shouts out that women don't know how to be women. And, truth be know, before he got the boot from 93.5 in LA, this wife he recently divorced was declared on the radio as the love of his life. He declared how she stood with him and helped him become the man he was, and blah, blah, blah. Everyday he was on the radio telling us women how to be like Mary because she was the best and helped him come up. But in court and to the judge, he was a self made man without assistance from her. Always spouting out scriptures as if he's some pastor when in reality, he has to do that in an attempt to prove to his public and himself that he is a man of God. We are all people of God but it does not mean we have to validate it publicly all the time to prove it to the world.

we all do things in our journey that we are failures at but with the grace of GOD we will learn and try to do better. read your commandments
thou shall not covet thy neighbors. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything

The only reason Steve is being criticized is because he is in the public eye. From my observation I don't feel Steve dilibely set out to hurt anyone. I feel he has a great work ethic, which speaks volumes for his success. You either like him are you don't. Also remember all have sin, and come short of the glory of
God. Remember we all will reap what we sow. the Good, and the Bad.
