Over the years comedian Katt Williams has been known to entertain legions of fans across America for his standup routines and movie roles. However, on Sunday night, the 38-year-old 'Friday After Next' star managed to land his latest role as an Atlanta burglar. No Joke.
The Associated Press reports Williams is currently being held by police in a Coweta County, Georgia jail, where he was arrested for burglary and criminal trespassing after allegedly breaking into a home.
According to Coweta County Sheriff's Office Major James Yarbrough, an unidentified homeowner in the Southwest Atlanta suburb called authorities around 9 p.m. to report the comedian gained entry by breaking into the residence and stealing various items including jewelry.
Yarbrough declined to comment on any further details.
Williams' recent legal ordeal follows a bizarre string of events demonstrated by the former 'BET Hip-Hop Awards' host. Prior to being admitted into a psychiatric hospital last November, he was jailed following an arrest after New York police stopped him for driving without a license plate in addition to discovering three hand guns.

He has also missed an scheduled appearance on 'Late Night With Conan O'Brien' and hosting the '2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards.'
A deputy at the Coweta County Jail confirmed that a magistrate is expected to set bond at an arraignment on Monday afternoon.
