Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman made international headlines last year after being in a rural Mississippi car crash, which injured himself and a female passenger. Last week, the 'Driving Miss Daisy' star settled the lawsuit out-of-court with the passenger.

According to news reports, his galpal Demaris Meyer sued the Oscar winner alleging her injuries from the crash and the trauma she sustained left her unable to work.

Meyer, had to be cut our of wreckage of the vehicle, and suffered broken bones, head injuries and cognitive difficulties, including short-term memory loss.

According to Meyer's attorney Gloria Allred, the case has now been dismissed after both parties agreed an out-of-court settlement. "Ms Meyer is pleased that the matter is resolved and the case is settled," Allred said.

Meanwhile, Freeman's attorney, Jack Hayes Jr., and business partner, Bill Luckett, both declined to discuss the case or settlement terms. "We're all glad it's over with," Hayes told The Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis.
