Despite original plans for releasing Michael Jackson's critically acclaimed docu-film, 'This Is It' on DVD this holiday season, Sony Pictures has officially announced that the motion picture won't be available until January 26th.

According to E! Online, aggrieved theater owners felt the quick turnaround between the film's theatrical release and the DVD/Blu-ray release would cut into ticket sales.
One thing's for sure. Michael Jackson fans will not be disappointed by the DVD's special features, which will entail two brand-new music videos for 'Thriller' and 'Smooth Criminal,' in addition to director Kenny Ortega's personal accounts on working with the King of Pop during his final days.

Since opening in theaters on October 28th, the motion picture has grossed $222.6 million globally after being extended beyond its initially planned two week release.
