LL Cool J hosted this year's Grammy Nominations Concert Live, a televised event celebrating this year's biggest names in music.

The Recording Academy's hour-long special, which aired on CBS last night, featured performances from some of the 52nd Annual Grammy Award show nominees, including a noteworthy tribute to Michael Jackson by Maxwell – and previewed what's to come for next year's big event.

Seven-time Grammy Award-winner Beyoncé Knowles leads the pack with ten nominations, including Album of the Year for her platinum-plus third solo album 'I Am... Sasha Fierce,' Record of the Year for 'Halo' and Song of the Year for her dance anthem 'Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).'

Taylor Swift's sophomore release 'Fearless' earned her eight nominations, while Kanye West, Maxwell and Black Eyed Peas rounded out the field with six nominations. Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and DJ/producer David Guetta – the man behind the Black Eyed Peas megahit 'I Got A Feeling' scored five nods.

Other notable nominations include the 'Saturday Night Live' parody/song 'I'm On a Boat' by The Lonely Island & T-Pain in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category.

Keri Hilson is the sole R&B singer to score a Best New Artist of the Year nomination.

R&B powerhouse Ledisi, who released her third major label studio album -- 'Turn Me Loose' -- in August, scored two nominations: Best R&B Album and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Also notably, 'Degrassi' actor-turned-rap sensation Drake -- who has yet to release a formal debut -- racked up two nominations for his hit song 'Best I Ever Had.'
