Today, Pleasure P should be celebrating receiving some of the greatest career achievements of his life – three Grammy Award nominations for his solo debut.
Instead the R&B crooner is fighting rumors about child molestation allegations.
Allegedly sealed Florida court documents have leaked to various websites documenting how the former Pretty Ricky singer inappropriately touched two minors, who are family members, in 2004.
The documents have fueled rumors that Pleasure P's foul past is the reason for his dismissal from the popular singing group.
A woman named Laura Goldstein is claiming to be the daughter of the attorney who allegedly defended Pleasure P. She posted the documents because she says the 24 year-old Atlantic Records singer has yet to pay her father for his legal work and has started threatening her family.
Black celebrity blogger Necole Bitchie has spoken with a source that claims to be close to the family, who confirmed the allegations, which can be seen on her website.
Commenting on their former group member's past, Pretty Ricky released a statement on their website, saying, "Unfortunately due to Pleasure P's lawyer filing an injunction against us from speaking, we are not at liberty to speak about the case. However we will let it be known that we did kick him out of the group, he did not leave on his own free will."
This afternoon, Pleasure P (legally known as Marcus Cooper) released a statement via his official website refuting the controversy:
"All of the recent rumors and accusations that are being circulated about me are 100% false. They are disgusting and vile; and they are being spread by individuals with their own sick agendas. The purported documents that are also being circulated are forgeries. I have never met or known anyone by the name of "AGoldstein" or Laura Goldstein or Ashley Goldstein, which I believe are fictitious names. I have never been represented by an attorney named Goldstein. For someone to go to such depths to assassinate my character and slander my good name is truly criminal. My attorneys are investigating this matter and will take all necessary and appropriate action to protect my name and reputation."

These days, you don't know what to believe however, when a claim like this has been made against you...you are obligated to find out if it's true or not.
For someone to go to the extent of filing charges against him, it seems like there may be some truth to it. I believe that if it's happened once, it could just be a matter of time until it (or something similar) happens again. Having his records "sealed" doesen't help him or the victim(s). I hope that if the claim against him is true, he has indeed gotten the help he needs and done the hard work of change. As a celebrity (debatable), he could use his platform to help others who have or will sturggle with this issue and others like it. That will require exposing himself and even more total transparency.
We have no right to alter the lives of others in such a painful and damaging way. Still, there is help for those who find themselves in this place. I wish all of the people involved strength and courage to heal from the inside out.

if u read all the facts n read up on the situation youd see your wrong cause number 1 he was a minor when the crime was committed you dont have 2 register as a sex offender because if you dont get in anymore trouble after your first offense no matter the crime your record gets erased when you turn 18 therefore he obviously didnt get into anymore trouble after he sexaully assaulted his niece and nephew cause if he did get in any other kind of trouble after he did what he did he would have had to register as a sex offender then when he turned 18 number 2 his nephew said uncle marcus touches me after his niece said the same thing after she complained and they saw her area was irrataited she was takin and checked and there was tearing and other signs of sexaul abuse theres hospital records and number 3 theres court documents with his name on it so do the research before you speak on a topic you obviously know nothing about

i think that the so called lawyers that he had are trying to get money out of him now that he has money.but i really think people shouldn't print stuff that is not true. but i think god will handle the person thats spreading a nasty rumour like that.thats not good.i ust wanna say marcus keep your head up an keep right on making those good songs.an pray an let god handle it.

I think Pretty Ricky is just hating on Pleasure P because they are a big joke and when he left them he got 3 grammy noms.
Pleasure P doesn't have to stoop to thier level and i hope he sues the hell out of anybody who had something to do with slandering his name

ok, i think this is all a set from pretty ricky!!! his former bandmates are just mad because he went solo and has better career by himself! now they tryna destroy him and kill any chances of him getting his first grammy!! ( something that they will never earn )
