'Divorce Court,' which is in its eleventh season on television, is taking a more hands-on approach to keeping married couples out of legal warfare.
On Jan.15, 'Divorce Court: An Evening with Judge Lynn Toler' will take place at the historic Alabama Theatre in Birmingham, Alabama.
There, the judge, who has been married for 20 years, will give relationship advice to real couples in various stages of their lives. Toler will also discuss her "mother rules" on life, the topic of divorcing well and provide a before-you-take-your-vows conversation to help prepare couples for successful long-term relationships.
"I am concerned about the current state of marriage, especially as it relates to the family and kids," Toler, who hosted the syndicated show since 2006, said. "On 'Divorce Court' I am usually focused on damage control."
Birmingham is significant for the kick-off because 'Divorce Court' came in as the #1 court program during the May sweeps in that city.
According to the show's executive producer Mark Koberg, there are designs underway to bring Toler to more cities within the near future.
"Taking the 'Divorce Court' experience on the road allows me to get out in front of the relationship problems and advise couples early when it can really have some benefit -- and in a forum that is not full of screaming people," the Harvard University educated judge added.
Tickets are $20 each and are available at Ticketmaster.
'Divorce Court,' which now has completed over two thousand episodes, was just renewed through the 2011-2012 season.

Lynn Toler is a ghetto idiot. All she does is use her marriage as an example, and any smart woman knows, when a woman makes her marriage an instrument as to how good marriage is..her marriage isn't what it appears. Her husband is in it for the money and she was on the Tom Joyner show last year boasting about her salary and buying her dream home. Not a problem, but after that, she suddnely became preachy to couples, and her speaking dialect sounds like she is straight out of Compton. She makes gestures with her face and mouth, that are disgusting, and I prefer Judge Maybelline better. Maybelline and Joe were great together. I don't think Joe cares too much for Lynn Toler.

I don't understand why anyone wants to watch this type of show. People bringing their dirty laundry on TV for all to see...pathetic. Keep your business behind closed doors, losers.

I really do not care for any of the judges with the exception of Jeanine Pirro, but I especially do not care for Judge Toler. I do not like her way of conducting and her way in expressing herself to the litigants. she does not sound professionals, but the most irritating thing about her show is that she does not have control over her court room. She lets the litigants talk over her and each other and they do not show respect for the court room nor her.

Dear Judge Toler,
Please advise. In a relationship off and on for 12 years and married to him for 5 additional years.
He refuses to stop his friendship with ex-lady friend who is able to help him out when we have a break up for her advantage always. He recently reached out to her to ask for loan and I found out, was histerical and things haven't been the same since. Do I just give up and let him go and continue to fight him on my fidelity issues with our marriage. It just hurts so bad that he won't stop connecting with her even when I ask him to.
