Ivory Tabb: Down but Not Out Since Wanting to 'Work for Diddy'

During the first go 'round of VH1's 'I Want to Work for Diddy,' entertainment mogul and clothing designer Sean Combs had little luck selecting two new employees, so he decided to give it another try.

On the second season of the hit reality competition series, talent buyer Ivory Tabb worked her way from repeatedly landing in the bottom to being a strong final contender.

"If we were walking up and pushing resumes in front of him, I would have won out the gate," Tabb told BV Newswire.

On last night's episode, though, the 32-year-old was sent home after failing at a task that required her to organize a Sean John preview fashion show.

Tabb says she's not bitter at not winning and thinks Diddy might find a better fit in Ebony and Daniel.

"Sometimes the best candidate for the job is overly qualified," she stated. "I didn't go on the show to actually be his assistant. I have been there and done that [and] already paid my dues."

"I just went on there to see if I could do it and how far I could really go," she added.

She concedes that Daniel and Ebony do have a few talents.

"Ebony and Daniel, they both are like younger than me – way younger," she pointed out. "You could mold them, and they can do what you want them to do."

"The two contestants that he has left will do exactly what he wants them to do and how he wants them to do it. For me, that probably wouldn't have worked out well because I know how to get things done and I use methods that from my experiences are proven."

Make no doubt about it, the Louisiana State University alum will have a successful future. Prior to signing on for the show, she worked in entertainment as a talent buyer, placing athletes and entertainers in commercials and events. That experience, she said, kept her from being intimidated by the Bad Boy Records founder.

"I was never intimidated when I saw Mr. Combs. Other contestants got intimidated. [For me,] It was like, 'Oh that's like LeBron [James] or Kobe [Bryant], and I feel like because of that, he never played the same types of games with me like he played with everyone else," she confided.

Tabb, who currently resides in Dallas, has continued working as a talent buyer. Right now, she's been booking events with athletes for the Superbowl weekend, and aspires to host panels as a self-proclaimed "lifestyle opinionator." She's also hoping to have her own satellite radio show on relationships.

The finale of 'I Want to Work for Diddy' airs Jan. 4 at 10 p.m. ET on VH1.
