Teddy Riley: Making News for Attacking Daughters With Video Game Instruments

Comments (13)

Teddy Riley, who was once regarded as one of the hottest hip-hop soul producers, is making news – this time for being in hot water because of a messy domestic drama.

TMZ.com is reporting that the man behind hits such as 'Rump Shaker,' 'No Diggity' and 'Piece of My Love' is accused of using a guitar from the video game Rock Band in a violent attack on his daughters.

Riley's 18-year-old daughter, Taja, was granted a temporary restraining order against her father after claiming that he abused her and her older sister by "stomping, punching and bashing them" in his L.A. home on Dec. 23.
In documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Taja alleges that at one point, Riley lifted a Rock Band guitar and "threatened to kill" her and her sister with it.

She says she suffered several injuries, including "bashes to temple, contusion on face" and "pain in [her] knee."

Riley, 43, has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from his daughter. The next hearing is set for January.

Over the course of his 25-year career, the father of six has worked with a roster of major music artists that includes Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre, Bobby Brown and Janet Jackson.
