Capitalizing on the success of his No. 1 nationally syndicated urban radio show, 'The Keith Sweat Hotel,' singer-songwriter Keith Sweat is making his debut as the host of 107.5 WBLS-FM's nightly show 'The Quiet Storm' on Jan. 4.

The Harlem-bred crooner will replace longtime host Vaughan Harper to control the 7 p.m.-midnight time slot for the New York radio station.

"I couldn't be happier to be heard in my hometown, on the station I grew up listening to," Sweat said in a statement. "WBLS is the must-listen-to station for R&B fans in New York, and I want to thank them for this tremendous opportunity."
"I grew up listening to Frankie Crocker and the WBLS family," he continued. "So I feel like I definitely have a sense of the station and the audience."

With Sweat, WBLS adds to its talented roster of on-air personalities and shows, including Egypt's 'Middays With Egypt' and Steve Harvey's highly rated 'The Steve Harvey Morning Show.'

In addition to holding down his New York radio gig, the 'Make It Last Forever' singer will also helm his original duties on the Premiere Radio Network syndicated 'The Keith Sweat Hotel.'

Juggling between shifts will be no sweat as he intends to "build a personal relationship" with his listening audience, which was his same approach as a music artist.

"Everybody wants to feel good about life, and that's what I try to help them do," Sweat told 'The New York Daily News on doing radio. "If someone has had a bad day, I want them to feel the next day will be a better one. If they've had a perfect day, I want them to feel there will be more of those."

'The Quiet Storm' and 'The Keith Sweat Hotel' will broadcast as two separate programs.
