Greetings Brothers and Sisters:
“Reverend” Pat Robertson--offered his twisted, non-scientific and racist explanation of the earthquake in Haiti: "Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it," he said. "They were under the heel of the French...and they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, 'We will serve you if you'll get us free from the French.' "True story. And the devil said, 'OK, it's a deal,” Robertson said. "Ever since, they have been cursed by one thing after another." “Reverend” Pat Robertson has made several other preposterous statements in the pass, so he constantly a foolish man who claims to know what God thinks and why the devil acts.
So, who really swore a pact to the devil? If “Reverend” Pat Robertson believes that Haiti is cursed because Haitian people swore a pact to the devil---then who did the French, Spanish, Portuguese and English swore a pact with when they instituted the hellocaust of genocide and enslavement on “Indians” and West Africans? They may not have needed to because they were already acting like a “devil”. “Reverend” Pat Robertson statement is not a new foolish belief--there are too many White---and some Black people that believe all people of African descent (Africans on the Continent of Africa, Haitians, African Americans, African Jamaicans, African Cubans, African Brazilians, etc.) are cursed. Another foolish and old belief that Black people are cursed comes from white racist christian nationalist, ku klux klan and creationist interpretation of the biblical passage that read “Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. And he said, blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem: and Canaan shall be his servant. Genesis 9: 25-27---Ham, Shem, and Japheth stated that Ham is more Physical. Shem is more Spiritual and Japheth is more Intellect. Ham being ‘black’, Shem being ‘brown’ and Japheth being white.” It is a good example of the self-fulfilling prophecy concept.
“According to some historians, the tale in Genesis 9 in which Noah cursed the descendants of his son Ham with servitude was a seminal moment in defining black people, as the story was passed on through generations of Jewish, Christian and Islamic scholars. According to columnist Felicia R. Lee, "Ham came to be widely portrayed as black; blackness, servitude and the idea of racial hierarchy became inextricably linked." Some people believe that the tradition of dividing humankind into three major races is partly rooted in tales of Noah's three sons repopulating the Earth after the Deluge and giving rise to three separate races.”
In addition, “The biblical passage, Book of Genesis 9:20–27, which deals with the sons of Noah, however, makes no reference to race. The reputed curse of Ham is not on Ham, but on Canaan, one of Ham's sons. This is not a racial but geographic referent. The Canaanites, typically associated with the region of the Levant (Palestine, Lebanon, etc) were later subjugated by the Hebrews when they left bondage in Egypt according to the Biblical narrative. The alleged inferiority of Hamitic descendants also is not supported by the Biblical narrative, nor claims of three races in relation to Noah's sons. Shem for example seems a linguistic not racial referent. In short the Bible does not define black people, nor assign them to racial hierarchies. Historians believe that by the nineteenth century, the belief that black people were descended from Ham was used by southern United States whites to justify slavery. According to Benjamin Braude, a professor of history at Boston College. The 18th and 19th century Euro-America, Genesis 9:18-27 became the curse of Ham, a foundation myth for collective degradation, conventionally trotted out as God's reason for condemning generations of dark-skinned peoples from Africa to slavery. Author David M. Goldenberg contends that the Bible is not a racist document. According to Goldenberg, such racist interpretations came from post-biblical writers of antiquity like Philo and Origen of Alexandria, who equated blackness with darkness of the soul.”
Again, It is a shame to the Almighty and humanity that a “religious” person would to say what “Reverend” Pat Robertson did about the Haitian people (“…swore a pact with the devil…”) during their time of a powerful 7.0 earthquake (geological scienceèTectonics plates that cause earthquakes are global). What people of Haiti need immediately is donations, prayers---and concern. Eventually, in the future a large number of those approximately 10,000 aid organizations must teach and help the Haitians to fish—and just be not given fish—so that they can become independent like other people who learnt to fish. Haitians are more than capable of fishing for their own needs and doing for self. The issues with too many Christian organizations are that giving aid to convert and make Haitians docile. (In addition, The white christian nationalist keep too many Haitian and other people of African descent head’s towards the sky looking at a white man sitting on a golden throne waiting to let them into “heaven” after their death. A good children’s fantasy story is more believable.) Their Christian aid comes with proselytizing. Whatever the spiritual/religious beliefs the Haitians adhere to they must empower themselves and stand much even taller; choose decent leaders to manage their country with checks and balances; elect leaders that will govern the people with love and the concern for their welfare; practice safe sex and birth control; plant thousands and thousands of trees; develop agriculturally, advance to their highest potential educationally---and borrow others best--and keep their unique and best qualities .

Where are the other performances? Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, and Alicia Keys all gave more moving performances than Beyonce. Why aren't they featured here? I'm so sick of everyone acting like Beyonce is the only game in town.

Why ask why. She is the #1 Diva. 10 Grammy nominations that is why and she is of Haitian decent. Stop hating and start appreciating. Those artist you named are talented but are not a triple threat. Face the music and it will sooth you ears. She was not there to give eye contact but to pour her heart out to the haitian people and that she did. I can see her HALOOOOOO. OUH OUH

Ok, why is it that all of the black media web sites only want to show case Beyonce's performance. Mary Jay, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend also gave moving performances. It is time that the media stop treating Beyonce like she is the second coming of Jesus.

I too AGREE! What about Mary J, Jennifer, WYCLEF, ect...? Why can't the other singers get the spotlight and credit where do? What made me mad was, BEY didn't give good I-CONTACT to the TV audience? With that big ol bang in her eyes I couldn't connect and felt that the song she was singing was just another BEYONCE PERFORMANCE? PULEEEZZZZZZ!
