Grammy Award winning soul singer Etta James is currently hospitalized in Southern California for an infection caused by a urinary tract infection.

The 72 year old singer's son, Donto James, told news outlets that his mother has been at Riverside Community Hospital for about a week and is recovering from sepsis.

The 'At Last' singer reportedly entered a drug rehabilitation treatment program about a month ago to shake a dependency on painkillers and over-the-counter medicine. She was transferred to another facility and then the hospital when her physical condition worsened.
He says James, who lives in Woodcrest, should be released soon.

Last year, James, who sang everything from blues to jazz, made international news after making public comments about Beyonce Knowles "stealing her song" and singing it during President Barack Obama's Inauguration festivities.
