"I seriously do not believe John Mayer is a racist. ... But by tweeting he likely wasn't racist ... and for seemingly mounting a defense for his racial insensitivities I got twitter-slapped by my peers and labeled a 'Mammie.' And after 25 years in the business that's a first for my resume."

John Mayer's Sounds of Blackness
During an interview in the March 2010 edition of Playboy magazine, John Mayer got a little loose-lipped. His remarks have caused uproar among the Twitter set, leaving many people wondering what would give him the gall to be so reckless with his words. Well, aside from the obvious, the tabloid-prone poster child is the only crooner in his field to have such beloved associations with some of the greatest names in black music. Holly stop making excuses for morons!! I don't care if he does not prefer black women that's his choice. It's how he said it!!
You know if Kanye was to say something disrespectful about white women you would be the first one that will make it an issuse that his behaivor is unacceptable.
Black people also don't make it an issue about honky pass for hundreds of years getting a free pass.
Stop giving excuses for idiots "Mamie"

RULES OF RACISM
The rules of racism.
You cannot do or say ANYTHING against another race or culture outside that of your own. If you do you will be considered a racist by all the other racists. Hey!!!...How come Mickey Mouse has a white face but his dumb ass friend Goofy and dog Pluto are brown?...it's racism of course...Didn't you know?
Better call Jesse JackASSon!!!

For the record John Mayer does appear to be a pompous ass. He's merely a product of his environment. He does appear quite intelligent. I think he thought he could get away with anything when he got stung, now he's using his intellect (quite well) defending himself. I have several friends, of many races. We all say and do things that may appear racist in nature. It doesn't make one a true racist. Judge if you want but you better duck when those stones come your way.

JESSICA I AGREE WITH YOU 100%! THERE ARE NO BLK MEN THAT'LL STAND UP FOR BLK WMN BECAUSE THEY ALL TURNED SELF RACISTS AGAINST THEMSELVES, AND TOWARDS THEIR OWN WOMAN! AND HERE THEY WANNA TALK SH*T BECAUSE OF WHAT THIS MAYER GUY SAID, WHEN THEY'RE THEIR OWN WORST ENEMY AND CALL OUT TO ANOTHER BLK MN: WHATS UP MY N? HOW DO BLK MN REALLY THINK THEY SOUND WHEN THEY USE IT TO ANOTHER BLK MN. GET MY DRIFT?
SO ALL OF A SUDDEN LIKE ALWAYS.... WHEN SOME WELL KNOWN OR UNKNOWN CAUCASION CALLS OUT THE N WORD, THEY SUDDENLY HIT A NERVE BECAUSE THEY WERE WHITE WHEN THEY SAID IT! CUT THE BULLSH...... AND MOVE IT ALONG!
OF COURSE IF KANYE WEST WOULD OF CALL THAT WACK COUNTRY SINGER SOME RACIST NAME, THE RACIST MEDIA WOULDN'T LET IT REST AND NIETHER WOULD FAKE-RACIST PHONY HOLLYWOOD! WHEN IT COMES TO THEIR PPL, THEY'LL TALK ABOUT SH*T LIKE A SCRATCHED CD TIL THEY'RE READY TO TAKE IT OFF!
THIS DOWNLOW RACIST (MAYER) PROBABLY GOES TO SECRET KKK MEETINGS,AND WHEN HE GET AROUND HIS WHITE BUDDIES.... WHO KNOWS WHAT HE SAYS ABOUT HIS BLK BAND MEMBERS>>> WHO ARE STUPID, WITH NO SELF RESPECT OR MORALS TO EVEN CONTINUE TO PLAY FOR HIM FOR THE MONEY. Hello Jess... I agree with you! "Where are all the brothers to defend us? I tell you where they are, tThey are with white thier women. I don't think Holly is a mammy. As a black woman, I date all kinds of white men. I get RESPECT from them. I have run accross a few John Mayer types but all it took was for them to get to black women better. John has said in his interview that he will start to date more black women. He's trying to be famous and deal with all the back lash he will get...but he will come around because I know he is getting sick and tired of all those faux Holiwwod bimbos! - Call me a mammy if you want, at least I'm gettin laid!!!

Why should black men defend you. Black women support books, magazines like Essence and TV shows like Oprah that do nothing more than attack black men. You and others who are agreeing with you must live in a cave. Black women led by bitter man hating feminist over the years have shown little sensitivity to black men. I'm tired of black womens victimization complex. We have shed enough tears for black women. Who cares what this racist white boy had to say about black women.
