Fans of 'The Boondocks' can rest assured. Season three of the hit Adult Swim comedy is set to return on May 2.
Aaron McGruder's animated series, based on the comic strip of the same name, took a two-year hiatus and was originally supposed to return in March, but McGruder says the show will now return in May.
Regina King, who voices Huey and Riley Freeman, spoke to BV Newswire about the delay.
"'Boondocks' could be so much bigger than what it is," King said. "If I had the money to buy 'Boondocks' off Sony, I would," she furthered.
Details have not been revealed regarding the big-name talent that signed on to voice characters this season. But given the show's history of attracting stars such as Cee-Lo, Charlie Murphy, Lil' Wayne, Katt Williams, Mos Def, Quincy Jones, Samuel L. Jackson, Mo'Nique, Snoop Dogg and MTV's Sway, the upcoming season is sure to be full of celebrity cameos.
Tune in to Cartoon Network's Adult Swim on May 2 at 11:30 p.m. EST for the premiere of the new season.
