After winning numerous awards and accolades and considered the favorite to win, Mo'Nique ended a long journey as she won the Best Supporting Actress award for her phenomenal role as the mom-from-hell Mary Jones in 'Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire.
With so much press surrounding her when she wasn't present in the early rounds of Oscar campaigning, Mo'Nique addressed that issue in her speech stating, "I would like to thank the Academy for showing that it can be about the performance and not the politics. To my amazing husband, Sidney [Hicks] -- thank you for showing me that sometimes you have to forego doing what's popular, in order to do what's right."

I thought the Academy Award was BOREING! Even though I missed Monique, and other black nominees receive their awards, I am proud to see black people get any award. I watched the beginning for 10 min and changed the channel. I started watching the reality show "The Crews". I turned back to the channel and seen dancers crunkin, pop lockin, ect.. to classical music? I was like, what the ? Give me a break! I'm glad I didn't watch it.

I just want to know why the academy choose to show the fried chicken scene for the best adapted screen play category?

When Roger Ross Williams won the Best Short Documentary Award for 'Music By Prudence, I thought that was so disrespectful and ignorant for that so-called producer to interrupt his award acceptance speech? How come nobody didn't get that CrAzY woman of the damn stage and kick her behind out of the award show? They sure did that to Kayne West and people still today are talkin about that incident? Why wasn't this particular incident out there in the media a lot? He was too kind to that woman. I would have taken the mike off from the stage and continued on with my acceptance speech with my award in my other hand. That woman should be BANNED for life! Look, ain't nobody going to steal any special moment and spotlight from me! That's my opinion.

OMG! I felt the same way about that too! I guess she works with him but still wait your turn bitch sheesh! His name was called not yours. I remember when Kanye did that to Taylor and all your heard for days was Kanye this Kanye that blah blah blah. But when a white person does it I guess it's OK?? Oh I agree with the other post that this awards was BORING!! Last year was better in my opinion.

Your funny. But hey, IT'S THE TRUTH! I was watching the "Joy whats her name show"? (She comes on "The View"). I was pissed off with her having this woman on her show. Joy was like, agreeing with her and like it was OK to interrupt somebody else's acceptance award speech? I won't be watching her show. But the only person I seen that had Mr. Williams on was Larry King. Larry King was nice to give Mr. Williams his spotlight by giving his original acceptance award speech on his show.
