With Oscar Award season behind her, Gabourey Sidibe is still making headlines.
All the buzz seems to be about her weight, though.
It seems that everyone has been is weighing in on the 'Precious' star's weight and health, causing a whirlwind of comments debating whether or not the topic is hurtful or helpful.
Last week shock jock radio personality Howard Stern cautioned Sidibe to seek help immediately before she encounters future fatal health issues.
Some took offense to Stern's brash comments including the actress' mother, Alice Tan Ridley, who told him to "get a life."
And then a weight loss company -- Acai Supply -- has approached the 26-year-old to provide her with a year's worth of their product.
However, Jamie Foxx had a rather unique perspective on the topic. "I hear they're doing the remake [to 'Precious'], it's called The Notorious Precious," the comedian, singer and radio personality joked during a recent appearance on Foxx's Sirius XM radio show 'The Foxxhole.' "Where Gabby does Biggie Smalls with Precious..."
Biggie Smalls, the rapper born Christopher Wallace who also went by the official moniker The Notorious B.I.G., was fatally shot in 1997 following a Los Angeles party. Before his untimely death, the hip hop legend -- discovered by Sean "Diddy" Combs and romantically linked to Lil Kim -- was known to glamorize his oversized stature.
The Academy Award winning star of 'Ray' continued impersonating the roles of Mo'Nique and Sidibe's characters from the Lee Daniels-directed drama, adding Notorious Precious would be produced by Tyler Perry.
While speaking in the tone of "Precious" he continued, "I don't know why you're coming at me like this. I'm trying...I'm trying to live, because...it was all a dream, I use to read Word Up magazine, Salt-N-Pepa..."

Remember Jamie Fox is just an entertainer who tells jokes a stand up comedian. He is not a paradigm of virtue or refined intelligence.

I consign with the above comment but also wanted to add a few of my own. One of the reasons that Gabby was so convincing as Precious was due to her weight. But I do hope that now the movie is over, she will make some better life choices on her own.

I JUST REALIZED THAT JAMIE AND HOWARD STERN BOTH ARE ON SIRIUS. IT PROBABLY WOULDN'T LOOK GOOD FOR JAMIE TO SAY ANYTHING NEGATIVE AGAINST STERN CONSIDERING THEY ARE BOTH ON SIRIUS AND SIRIUS PAYS BOTH OF THEM. IN OTHER WORDS I TAKE IT JAMIE FOXX WAS PROBABLY TOLD TO SAY WHAT HE SAID AS OPPOSED TO SAYING SOMETHING NEGATIVE AGAINST STERN.
IN THE BEGINNING OF THE TAPE YOU CAN HEAR SOMEONE ON JAMIE'S SHOW TALKING ABOUT STERN AND JAMIE JUST IGNORES WHAT IS BEING SAID ABOUT STERN AND IMMEDIATELY JUMPS INTO THE NOTORIOUS B.S. IT SOUNDS TO ME THAT IT WAS PLANNED TO GET THE WEIGHT OFF OF STERN. SO IT CAN BE SAID....WELL JAMIE SAID SOMETHING TOO...SO WHY BE UPSET WITH STERN.
WHAT A CROC OF SH-T! THIS WAS PRE-PLANNED.
PEOPLE USE TO SAY JAMIE WAS A PUNK IT IS OBVIOUS THAT HE STILL IS.

It doesn't have to take an "intellignet comedian" to know what is hurtful. I am disgusted with the statement of Jamie Fozz. You wouldn't catch him saying anything like that against Miss Oprah and get away with it.She's a very large sized girl, who actually loves herself. She has also shown the world that size only matters to men. There are women, homemakers,in this country twice her size.Is it healthy? No. Is it our business? NO!

wij43u,
So "Remember Jamie Fox is just an entertainer who tells jokes a stand up comedian. He is not a paradigm of virtue or refined intelligence"...................and yet he can compare Gabourey Sidibe to Biggie Smalls, and use her in a radio skit (with his audience in full laughter) as "The Notorious Precious"
The references & comparsions that "Black man" Jamie Foxx used is that just like Biggie Smalls in comparsion, appearance & stature, Gabourney Sidibe is "big, fat & black" while "White man" Howard Stern, unlike Jamie Foxx, is not a stand-up comedian but who is also a comedian (a comedic shock jock radio personality) with his own radio show (the same as Foxx) who said some ngative things ("she is the biggest, blackest chick I have ever seen") and also cautioned Sidibe (and not in kind language) to seek help immediately before she encounters future fatal health issues yet Stern & Foxx are treated differenly for making fun of her for the exact same reasons?
Saying the same things but in a slightly different way.
One gets a pass for being a "comedian" while the other doesn't get a pass for being a "comedian".
Sounds kinda hypocritical to me.

Good points. I guess it's that unspoken rule that Black people can talk about one another but "others" cannot. I don't find either commentary funny; I find it very insensitive and disgusting. I am not one to absolve someone because they are a "comedian." Saying things under the guise of comedy is not always acceptable or entertaining.

I would agree with you, if you was also was using this same opinion with Saturday Night Live (SNL) they are the Kings of poking fun , but yet when Jamie does it he Hypocritical.
I agree with you I personally would have not been so harsh with poking at Gabby, but we have to be fair Jamie has ask his audience to go see her movie and stated it was a good movie and she is a good actor and hopes she win an Academy Award so unlike Howard Stern he has not said anything positive at all there is a big difference.
Jamie was just being funny maybe he was a little bit overboard but he was no way that I believe he meant what he said about Gabby in a bad way, unlike like Howard Stern comments that is meant to be deaming and personal.

Man I am black, first you guys gotta stop all this we are uptight, and all that. Howard stern gets on everyone, that what howard stern said was freaking funny, but more than that had an undertone of truth, she needs to be careful.
What Jamie Foxx said got me chest hurting it is funny. Simply that.
So cut the crap black or white, and I am as black as they come...It is funny, and she needs to lose weight.
