Wyclef Jean: More Scandal Concerning Yéle Haiti Organization

The bad news about misappropriation of funds continues for Grammy Award-winner Wyclef Jean's Yéle Haiti nonprofit.

As previously reported, the former Fugees rapper came under fire in January for supposedly using Yéle Haiti money to pay himself out for a concert to raise funds for the organization. He has since denied those allegations.

This time, there are newfound allegations that the 37 year-old married man shelled out the charity's money to his mistress

According to a 2009 tax return obtained by The Smoking Gun, Yéle Haiti, which has been at the forefront of delivering water and supplies to survivors of the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, gave out $105,000 to Zakiya Khatou-Chevassus.

Khatou-Chevassus is currently listed on the Yéle Haiti website as 'vice president,' but she is said to have been romantically linked with the 'Gone 'Til November' singer and also is said to have served as his personal assistant back in 2008. She was reportedly paid three times the amount of Yéle Haiti program director Suzie Sylvain, who reportedly can be credited with keeping the organization running.

On March 15, Jean, like so many celebrities these days, headed to Twitter to express his disdain at the latest allegations.

"When donkeys spread rumors about me, I don't respond 'cause I'm the master that leads them to the well to drink the water," he wrote. "I have been spending money in my country since I was a Fugees! Why is it now after the Quake I am being [an] excuse?"

"Why would I steal charity money?" he continued. "You're gotta come better den dat."
