Over the weekend, news spread that former television personality Star Jones-
The New Jersey native has released a statement through her spokesperson and also taken to the Web to let fans know that she is currently feeling better and recovering at home in New York.
Her new procedure was pre-planned and related to a thoracic tumor, which developed three decades ago."This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had thirty years ago," a rep told People.com. "The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers."
Jones-Reynolds, who celebrates her 48th birthday March 24, previously underwent gastric bypass surgery in August 2003. Though she initially denied having the procedure, in the past few years, she has been more vocal about the surgery -- the reason for her 160 pound weight loss -- most notably on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.'
The ex-'Insider' correspondent took to social media to express her gratitude for her fans' support.
She frequently talks politics on Twitter and the health care bill's passing on March 21 was no exception: "Can you imagine me trying to recover without health care," she wrote. "Those who voted against it need to hang their heads in shame." She added, "Thank you for all the good wishes and prayers...I feel them all."

You are a fighter, Star Jones. Your attitude and optimism, above all your faith in God, are what it takes for you to heal and maintain your health and well-being. God has blessed you with good family and friends who really have you back. Best to you always

I wish you the best Miss Star Jones, and enjoy your life because life is very short. Treat every day as if it is your last, because GOD does not promise us tomorrow. GOD gave you some special gifts to see how you can handle it, handle it well my sister, and get well.

I wish she would not be ashamed of the gastric bypass surgery, I had it in 2004 and I have never felt better. The cardiac issue was probably not from the surgery but the stress that she had on her heart before the surgery. May God continue to bless you Ms. Jones-Reynolds.

Truth in reporting please - - to my knowledge Star Jones has not been disbarred, nor her license revoked...therefore she is NOT a "Former" attorney, but a former "practicing" attorney. She is still and will remain an Attorney until the State Bar [for her state(s)] says otherwise. Ms. Jones just does not "practice" her craft in a "formal" setting. Journalism degree anyone????
Be well Soror Jones!!

I hope this has nothing to do with her gastric bypass operation. People should stop using that surgery as a cure all for fixing their weight issues. It brings lots of complications for many.

It has already been noted, that She had a pre-existing problem long before this surgery. The damage was already done. Hope the best for you Ms. Starr.
