In its thirteen years on Broadway, 'Chicago' has mastered the art of stunt casting with the likes of Usher, Brooke Shields, Ashlee Simpson, Wayne Brady, Angie Stone, Jennifer Holiday and Robin Givens, to name a few, taking a stab at the Kander & Ebb musical's lively prohibition era lead characters.

But, they aren't ready to 'Do It Alone' without Michelle Williams.

After starring in 'Aida' on Broadway and touring the country in 'The Color Purple,' Williams had a successful run as Roxie Hart in the London production of 'Chicago.' The 'We Break the Dawn' singer became the first Black woman to star as Roxie on London's West End.

Last month, she seamlessly transitioned to wowing Broadway audiences and the former Destiny's Child singer has performed in 'Chicago' on The Great White Way since Feb.8.

This week, 'Chicago' producers Barry and Fran Weissler announced that the Grammy Award winning starlet will extend her limited engagement in the role that earned Renee Zellweger an Academy Award nomination for the 2002 movie adaptation.

"Michelle has proven to be a tremendous asset to 'Chicago', first in London last year and now on Broadway," said Barry Weissler.

Williams, an NAACP Theater Award winner, was originally slated to end her run at New York's Ambassador Theatre on March 28, but will now play an additional 18 performances through April 13.

The Rockford, Illinois native will also take part in the Los Angeles engagement of the musical's national tour from April 20 through May 9 at the Pantages Theatre.

Weissler added, "In addition to being a fantastic performer, she's as delightful and genuine offstage as she is onstage. We're thrilled that she's not only able to extend her Broadway run, but to join our national tour for its third return engagement in Los Angeles."

It was also announced that after Williams ends her 'Chicago' run, another Broadway star will take the New York stage in 'Chicago.'

Terri White, whose rags to riches story from homelessness to starring in the short-lived revival 'Finian's Rainbow' was big news last year, is also joining the cast of 'Chicago.' White will make her 'Chicago' debut as Matron 'Mama' Morton beginning April 26.
